Advisory Council Meeting to Determine Grassroots Science and Technology Tasks in 2025 (2nd Time)

On the afternoon of July 7, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a meeting of the Advisory Council to determine the list of S&T tasks to be implemented in 2025 (2nd time). The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nong Thanh Than, Deputy Director of the DOST, Chairman of the Council; Council members, representatives of specialized departments under the DOST participated in contributing opinions.

Overview of the meeting

Based on 03 proposals, orders for basic-level science and technology tasks to be implemented from 2025 (2nd time) by agencies inside and outside the province. The Department of Science and Technology organized the establishment and meeting of the Advisory Council to determine science and technology tasks to be implemented in 2025 to consider 03 proposals, orders for science and technology tasks in the field of agricultural science including: Research and proposal for special recognition of circulation of local tea varieties in Doong Pan, Doc Lap commune, Quang Hoa district, Cao Bang province; Research and proposal for special recognition of circulation of some specialty plant varieties of Cao Bang province; Application of science and technology to build a new model of planting and caring for native brown pear varieties in Ha Lang district, Cao Bang province.

After listening to the summary report and looking up the overlap of the proposals, the discussion council members analyzed, commented, and evaluated each criterion such as: urgency, importance, interdisciplinary, inter-regional, scale and importance of the scientific problem raised in the proposal and order; the possibility of non-overlapping of the topic with the S&T tasks that have been and are being implemented; the possibility of applying or using the results created in production and life; the suitability of the research scope compared to the reality of the current 2-level government model of the province.

  Thereby, making recommendations on editing, supplementing and perfecting some contents of the proposals in accordance with practical requirements to ensure the criteria during implementation.

Based on the evaluation opinions, comments and suggestions of the members, the Council conducted a vote to evaluate the proposed S&T tasks. As a result, the Council unanimously advised and proposed not to implement 01/03 tasks and advised and revised and proposed to implement 02/03 S&T tasks. The Council unanimously agreed at the meeting to recommend the Department of Science and Technology to consider and approve the list of 02 grassroots S&T tasks to be implemented from 2025 (2nd time).
