Advisory Council meeting to determine specialized science and technology tasks in Social Sciences and Humanities to be implemented in 2026

On August 4, the Advisory Council for Determining Provincial-Level Scientific and Technological Tasks in the Social Sciences and Humanities (hereinafter referred to as the Advisory Council) held a meeting to review and evaluate 15 research proposals to serve the development of a list of tasks to be implemented in 2026. Comrade Be Dang Khoa, Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of Cao Bang province, Chairman of the Advisory Council chaired the meeting.

At the meeting, the Council members determined the tasks of analyzing, discussing and commenting on 15 proposed research tasks. Focusing on the following contents: Urgency and importance for socio -economic development, national defense, security, and enhancing the scientific and technological potential in the province; The ability to not overlap with scientific and technological tasks using the state budget that have been and are being implemented in the province; The ability to apply or use the results in production and life or in policy making and planning (for scientific projects, scientific and technological topics); Origin of technology and the ability to mobilize non-state budget funding sources for implementation (for scientific and technological projects, pilot production projects); Name, target orientation, and requirements for the results.

The Advisory Council highly appreciated the contents related to sustainable development, preserving indigenous cultural values, promoting green economy, and digital transformation. However, some proposals are still descriptive, not clarifying the key content, intervention solutions, and specific implementation methods. Some proposals overlap with tasks in other fields or are not close to local reality, and need to be carefully edited.

The Advisory Council has selected 5 out of 15 proposed scientific and technological tasks in the field of Social Sciences and Humanities to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and approval for implementation in 2026, including: Research on the model of developing eco-tourism associated with green economy in the border area of Cao Bang; Research on promoting the role of prestigious people in ethnic minority areas in Cao Bang province; Research, preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Tay ethnic group through traditional costumes; Research on perfecting provincial-level green tourism criteria to serve the assessment of Cao Bang tourist destinations; Research on multilingual communication solutions to improve the effectiveness of trade promotion of craft village products in Cao Bang province and the Advisory Council has evaluated 01 more topic task related to improving professional capacity, governance and market connection for agricultural cooperatives to be included in the list for further completion for consideration and addition to the list in 2026.

The Council requested the ordering units to complete the documents and explanations according to the instructions of the Department of Science and Technology. After being approved by the Provincial People's Committee, the tasks will be implemented from 2026.
