Meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Tourism Industry

On July 15, Ben Tre Tourism Association held a meeting to celebrate the 65th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Tourism Industry (July 9, 1960 - July 9, 2025) and review activities in the first 6 months of 2025.

Attending the meeting were Mr. Tran Ngoc Tam - former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, Honorary Chairman of Ben Tre Tourism Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Quyen Thanh - Member of Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee; representatives of Mekong Delta Tourism Association; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and members of the association.

Speaking about the tradition of the tourism industry, Mr. Tran Ba Sanh - Chairman of Ben Tre Tourism Association said: After 65 years of establishment and development, Vietnam tourism has gradually affirmed its position as an important economic sector, actively contributing to the country's socio-economic development, and at the same time being a bridge for cultural exchange and international integration. Vietnam Tourism Day (July 9) is not only an anniversary to honor the industry, but also an opportunity for those working in tourism to look back on the past, express gratitude for their contributions and continue to foster the sustainable development of the industry.

In recent times, in general, Ben Tre Tourism Association has closely followed the general direction of the province, implementing many tasks of the industry. Tourism businesses have focused on promoting communication, advertising, and introducing the image of local tourism to domestic and foreign tourists in many forms. The development of tourism products has been of interest to the business community, building many new and attractive programs and services. Cooperation and association activities between tourism businesses have been promoted, contributing to building a chain of typical tourism products.

After the merger, the tourism industry of Vinh Long province is facing many new situations and requirements. The tourism associations of Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, and Vinh Long will urgently develop a plan to merge into the Vinh Long Tourism Association according to regulations, continue to develop members, and build a new local tourism brand to become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists.
