Nam Phuong Agricultural Cooperative, La Muong village, Sop Cop commune, Sop Cop district operates in the agricultural sector. With the goal of linking for sustainable development, the Cooperative has linked people in production, promoted technical progress, aimed at improving productivity and quality of crops and livestock, creating jobs and stable income for people.

Established in 2011, with 7 initial members, the cooperative now has 58 members, with a charter capital of over 2 billion VND; members focus on developing production and diversifying agricultural products. In particular, participating in planting 17 hectares of pineapple and mango, developing more than 1.2 hectares of seedling nurseries; 1.5 hectares of fish ponds; maintaining a breeding farm with 46 cows, thousands of broiler chickens, breeding chickens..., creating regular jobs for 20-30 local workers.
In addition, the cooperative has also invested in developing a beekeeping model in 40 households in the communes of Muong Va, Dom Cang, and Sop Cop. Thanks to the application of advanced techniques, from the initial 90 bee colonies, the number of bee colonies has now increased to 760, collecting 2.6 tons of honey annually. Mr. Lo Minh Duong, Na Loc village, Sop Cop commune, shared: During the beekeeping process, my family was supported by the cooperative with bee breeds and methods of bee care. Up to now, the family has 50 bee boxes, earning over 40 million VND/year from selling honey.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Director of the Cooperative, said: The Cooperative always ensures the principles of voluntariness, democracy, equality, self-responsibility and mutual benefit. At the same time, it encourages members to apply advanced science and technology in production; actively find outlets for products; develop household economy in association with the development of the Cooperative, harmonizing the interests of members with the interests of the Cooperative.
The Cooperative cooperates with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the District Agricultural Service Center to organize training and transfer techniques to members on: Beekeeping, fruit tree grafting, plant care and disease prevention. Signed a contract with the District Ethnic Affairs Department to participate in the service of supplying fish, poultry, breeding cows, fruit tree seeds... to people in communes in the district.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Vui, Pe village, Sop Cop commune, shared: In the past, when we planted trees, we only cared about productivity, while quality and the market were always passive. As a member of the cooperative, I was able to participate in training courses and transfer of livestock farming techniques organized by specialized agencies; with capital support from the cooperative, I invested in raising more than 1 hectare of fish pond. On average, my family sells 3-4 tons of commercial fish each year. In addition, I raise 30 pigs and hundreds of poultry. After deducting expenses, I earn an average of over 250 million VND per year.
The cooperative was selected by Sop Cop district as the unit participating in the pilot planting of raw pineapple according to the chain, supplying products to the DOVECO Fruit and Vegetable Processing Center. Mr. Phuong added: In 2020, the cooperative planted a pilot of 5 hectares of raw pineapple in Pom Khang village, Sop Cop commune, with the first year's output reaching 32 tons/ha. Dong Giao Food Export Joint Stock Company provided instructions on planting and care techniques; provided seeds, fertilizers, and nylon to cover the soil to retain moisture, prevent weeds from growing, and committed to purchasing all products. Suitable and well-developed pineapple trees can earn a profit of 100-120 million VND or more/ha. Therefore, the cooperative continues to mobilize members to plant an additional 10 hectares in Co Pong, Pom Khang, Na Loc and Pe villages, Sop Cop commune.
In 2022, the total revenue of the cooperative will reach about 15 billion VND; the average income will reach more than 6 million VND/member/month; maintaining good linkage activities in production and consumption of agricultural products. In the coming time, Nam Phuong Agricultural Cooperative will continue to promote and mobilize local farmers to join the cooperative; expand production and business scale, diversify agricultural products associated with expanding consumption markets. Focus on implementing production and business plans associated with building high-tech agricultural models; invest in post-harvest preservation technology lines, purchase modern labor equipment to serve agricultural production and business.
