Huawei officially launched the new luxury sedan Maextro S800

High-performance architecture, advanced safety systems, intelligent driving capabilities and handcrafted interiors are what make up the Huawei Maextro S800.

Huawei and JAC Motors have officially launched the flagship luxury sedan Maestro S800 in China. The car is priced from 708,000 - 1,018,000 yuan (about 2.47 - 3.56 billion VND). This is a car aimed at competitors such as the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

Developed on the Turing II Longxing platform, the S800 is a large luxury sedan. The car has dimensions of length x width x height of 5,480 x 2,000 x 1,536 mm and a wheelbase of 3,370 mm, surpassing the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class.

In the Chinese market, the Maextro S800 comes in two versions: pure electric and extended-range hybrid (EREV). The pure electric version is equipped with a four-wheel drive system with two motors. Meanwhile, the EREV version can choose between two motors or three motors for four-wheel drive.

The model marks the debut of Huawei’s 800V “Xue Xiao” intelligent range extension platform. The dual-motor EREV version has an electric range of 400 km or 1,333 km when combined with a gasoline engine. The triple-motor version has a pure electric range of 365 km and a combined range of 1,200 km.

The pure electric version of the Maextro S800 uses a 97 kWh battery that supports 5C super fast charging, providing an operating range of 702 km CLTC. Charging the battery from 10% to 80% takes only 12 minutes, while the 65 kWh battery of the EREV version needs 10.5 minutes.

In terms of performance, the Maextro S800 can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in 4.3 to 4.9 seconds, depending on the version. The braking distance from 100 km/h to a standstill is 34.5 meters. The car also has a 12° rear-wheel steering system, a turning radius of only 5.05 meters and a maximum diagonal ability of 16°.

Not stopping there, this luxury car also integrates the latest Huawei ADS 4 intelligent driving system with “AI training AI” capability. The car uses 4 LiDAR sensors along with a total of 32 other sensors, providing 360-degree recognition and supporting complex situations such as driving in narrow alleys, automatic obstacle avoidance or precise parking.

Safety is a highlight of the Maextro S800. Applying Huawei's Xuanwu safety architecture, more than 92% of the car body is made of ultra-high strength steel and aluminum. In addition, the battery has 5 layers of protection underneath and technology to prevent overheating. Huawei and CATL affirm that the battery design of this car exceeds China's latest safety regulations.

The car also introduces the Tulindragon platform, which features a “space-time inference” suspension system that allows for pre-adjustment when going through bumps or sharp turns. The suspension system includes double wishbones at the front and a 5-link at the rear, combined with adaptive air shock absorbers.

Inside the Maextro S800 are two interior configurations, including 4 seats and 5 seats. The luggage compartment capacity is 445L, lined with premium velvet. In addition, there are 5 interior color options: brown, white-purple, white, white-brown and dark brown.

The interior is handcrafted in a luxurious style with hand-polished crystal details, 1mm precision cast metal fittings at 1300°C and full semi-aniline leather. The interior wood paneling undergoes a rigorous grain selection process with a rejection rate of over 99% and is polished for 480 hours.

The most notable comfort equipment is the most advanced sound system in the Harmony Intelligent Mobility line, including 43 speakers, 7.5.10 independent channels and 2,920 W of power. Of which, there are 4 speakers on each seat's headrest, 10 ceiling channels, adaptive sound space creation algorithms and retractable tweeters with bass range below 40 Hz.

Next up is Huawei’s “StarFlash” digital car lock, launched alongside the Huawei Watch 5. It can identify users from 20 meters away, unlock from 3 meters away, and still work correctly when users are near the car, such as when picking up luggage.

Huawei says the system is five times more accurate and six times more reliable than conventional locks.

With its high-performance architecture, advanced safety systems, intelligent driving capabilities and handcrafted interior, the Maextro S800 sets a new benchmark for luxury electric sedans in the Chinese market. The first batch of 599 cars for pioneer customers will be delivered from June 26. Mass deliveries will begin in mid-August this year.
