Accordingly, the Prime Minister decided to recognize Chau Thanh district as meeting advanced NTM standards in 2023.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Long An province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committee of Chau Thanh district to continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in building new rural areas.

The Prime Minister also assigned Ministers, Heads of ministerial-level agencies, Heads of Government agencies, members of the Central Steering Committee for national target programs for the period 2021 - 2025, Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee and relevant organizations and individuals to be responsible for implementing this decision.

According to the Provincial New Rural Area Coordination Office, after being recognized as meeting the new rural standards in 2019, Chau Thanh district continued to implement the construction of advanced new rural areas. Up to now, the district has achieved 9/9 criteria of advanced new rural areas; average income per capita reached 71 million VND/year; multidimensional poor households decreased to 1.21%; local people's satisfaction with the results of the district's advanced new rural area construction is over 99%;...

Besides, the district has done well in mobilizing all resources to invest and upgrade rural infrastructure in a synchronous and modern direction to effectively serve the requirements of production development and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.

With the achieved results, Chau Thanh is the first district in the province to achieve advanced NTM standards./.
