As soon as the policy of implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses was issued, the People's Committee of Go Cong Dong district issued a specific plan with the goal of completing all the set targets by the end of the second quarter of 2025.
In particular, the Steering Committee for social housing development, elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in the district was established, operating effectively, closely coordinating with sectors and localities to synchronously implement everything from surveying, making lists to supporting funding and construction.

As of April 30, 2025, the total need for support to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Go Cong Dong district is 40 houses, including 23 newly built houses and 17 repaired houses, serving people with meritorious services, relatives of martyrs, poor households and near-poor households.
In the first phase, the district supported the construction of 13/15 houses for people with meritorious services and martyrs' relatives and completed them, including new construction and repairs. Some cases were not completed or not implemented due to land issues or family circumstances.
For poor and near-poor households, 13/14 houses have been completed and put into use, while 1 case is under repair. In the second phase, the district has started construction on 11/11 houses as planned. In total, Go Cong Dong district has started construction on 11 houses and completed 26 houses in both phases.
Notably, the Program to Eliminate Temporary and Dilapidated Houses has received strong support from organizations, individuals and the business community. The total budget mobilized for housing support for meritorious people is 1.9 billion VND, including significant contributions from socialization.
For the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program, the total mobilized budget was 1.86 billion VND, also receiving large contributions from the community, mobilizing a total of 305 working days. To date, 90.52% of the housing support budget for meritorious people has been used and 98.39% of the budget for the Temporary and Dilapidated House Elimination Program has been disbursed.
To complete the set goals, Go Cong Dong district will continue to monitor and urge the construction and repair of new houses for poor and near-poor households. At the same time, continue to mobilize the participation of the entire political system, businesses, philanthropists, organizations and individuals to complete the program on schedule. The handover of houses to beneficiaries will be organized immediately after completion.
The district will also promote emulation movements to "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" with the spirit of "Everyone competes, every industry competes, every day competes", contributing to helping poor and near-poor households "settle down", stabilize their lives and rise up to escape poverty sustainably.
Propaganda and dissemination of housing support policies will be enhanced, promoting the tradition of "When drinking water, remember its source" and stepping up support for the "Repaying gratitude" Fund and the "For the poor" Fund.
In addition, the district will enhance the responsibility of relevant agencies and communes and towns; at the same time, promote the supervisory role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and organizations at all levels in implementing the Program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.
Weekly, monthly and quarterly progress reporting will also be maintained for timely guidance. Go Cong Dong District also proposed that the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Home Affairs continue to support funding for repairing two houses for poor and near-poor households in Phuoc Trung Commune, both of which are severely damaged and have land use right certificates.
