According to Tech4Gamers , AMD is gradually narrowing the gap with Intel in the CPU market, even potentially 'surpassing' its competitor in the future.

Intel is gradually losing its position as the 'king' of the microprocessor industry.

Steam's December 2024 Hardware and Software Survey brought a big surprise, as AMD's CPU market share increased sharply by 3% to 38.73%, while Intel's market share dropped to 63.43%. This is an impressive leap, showing a significant change in user perception of AMD CPUs.

AMD's Ryzen CPU line with powerful performance, reasonable price and outstanding number of cores/threads has scored points with users in recent years. Meanwhile, Intel seems to be stagnating and has not made any significant breakthroughs.

However, some experts believe that AMD still needs to improve its market share in the GPU field to be able to truly 'dethrone' Intel. Currently, NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards are still 'dividing' the market.

Can AMD maintain this momentum and topple Intel in the future? The answer depends on many factors, including product strategy, pricing, and ability to meet market demand.
