Your iPhone Can Charge Much Faster With These Simple Tips

Báo Giao thôngBáo Giao thông26/07/2023

Apple has stopped including chargers in the iPhones since 2020, but models before the iPhone 12 come with a 5W charger. It's worth noting that this 5W charger doesn't have fast charging capabilities, and while this may be good for the battery if you regularly charge your iPhone overnight, you'll obviously have to wait 5 to 6 hours for your Apple phone to fully charge.

It should be noted that using this 5W charger for the iPad may take longer and Apple has provided a 10W or 12W charger with this product.

So a little tip that can help you charge your iPhone quickly without spending extra money is to use the iPad charger, this can help cut the charging time in half. Don't worry about this harming your phone because the iPhone will not consume more power than it can handle.

However, that iPad's 12W charger still uses the old USB-A connection standard and doesn't support the USB PD standard, so it's not technically considered "fast charging" by today's standards.

Even though Apple added fast charging that can go above 18W since 2017, it continues to provide 5W chargers with new iPhones, and the first models to have this USB-C fast charger in the box are the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max.

If you're wondering how much faster this fast charging can be, Apple claims it can charge your iPhone to 50% in just 30 minutes. So what do you need to do if you want to get your hands on this solution?

Apple continues to sell these fast chargers as accessories, which isn’t the most cost-effective way to go, but if you’re willing to shell out for the real thing, they’re worth it.

The first thing you’ll need is a USB-C to Lightning cable. The good news is that Apple still includes this cable in the box starting with the iPhone 12, and if it doesn’t, you’ll need to buy an additional accessory from Apple.

Next, you need to buy a 20W fast charger with a USB-C output instead of a USB-A port, this accessory has a listed price of about $ 29 and then you can enjoy Apple's fast charging solution.

But you can still buy nothing if you already own new iPads and MacBooks.

Most MacBooks and iPads sold in the past few years come with USB-C chargers, and you can use them with your iPhone. Even if you have a MacBook Pro, you can get much more powerful chargers, and don't worry about them affecting your iPhone, as Apple has confirmed that 61W and 87W chargers are safe to use with iPhones.

The final point to note is that in 2022, Apple has provided a 35W dual USB-C charger for the MacBook Air M2.

This will allow you to charge both your MacBook and iPhone at the same time, but it's important to note that the 35W will have to be split in half, and the two Apple devices will only receive a maximum of 17.5W each.
