After 12 days of fierce fighting, Iran and Israel have finally reached a ceasefire. According to China News Service on June 24, citing Iran's Supreme National Security Council, a statement was issued declaring a ceasefire with "Israel and its supporters."

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu also issued a statement, saying that he accepted the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran proposed by US President Donald Trump. It is worth noting that in the last two hours before the ceasefire took effect, both sides were still "fighting with all their might".

Iran launched at least 11 missiles at Israel, causing many casualties. At almost the same time, Israeli warplanes also bombed missile sites in western Iran. This absurd scene of "artillery shells and ceasefire letters flying together" can be said to reflect the complexity of the war in the Middle East. Although the war has stopped, the conflict and dispute between Iran and Israel has not ended.

Similar to the Korean War (1950-1953), Iran and Israel also launched a "death sprint" before the armistice agreement took effect. Both sides coincided and wanted to take advantage of the period when the other side showed signs of "running out of steam" to cause fatal damage.

Within 6 hours of the ceasefire coming into effect, Iran launched 6 missile attacks on Israel, including Tel Aviv, and sirens sounded in major Israeli cities. Likewise, Israel showed no mercy and launched multiple airstrikes on Iran.

From late night on June 23 to early morning on June 24, many military targets in Iran were attacked by Israeli warplanes, and this covert "inventory release" military retaliation once again exposed the fragile nature of the Iran-Israel ceasefire agreement.

Seeing that Iran had lost all its air defense capabilities and it was time to make a decisive strike, US President Donald Trump ordered the strategic air force and navy to launch a massive attack with heavy weapons on Iran's three nuclear facilities. After that, Trump urgently called Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, and finally made Iran and Israel press the "pause" button.

Looking at the military conflict between Iran and Israel, Iran certainly suffered the most. The military operation “Lion Rising” initiated by Israel focused on destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities; assassinating many senior officers of the military and the Revolutionary Guards, as well as many nuclear experts. And a large number of high-value military targets of Iran were destroyed.

After the ceasefire was announced, Iran's Supreme National Security Council declared that they were the “victorious side” that had “forced Israel to unilaterally end its aggression,” and the streets of Tehran, Iran's capital, were lit up with celebratory bonfires.

Behind this loud propaganda, Iran's precise calculations in the field of diplomacy and propaganda have been reflected. On the one hand, Iran has not publicly acknowledged the signing of the ceasefire agreement. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi made it clear that no written agreement had ever been reached.
11.jpg
The reason Iran chose the ceasefire is that Tehran has maintained “relative restraint”. This statement actually shows that Iran is the “absolutely advantageous” side and is on the winning side. But in reality, Iran has had secret connections with the US, through its partner Qatar, to implement the ceasefire.

Iran, on the other hand, has also set an ultimatum, leaving room for a ceasefire and negotiations. According to Iranian officials, if Israel stops its attacks by 4 a.m. on June 24, Iran will not retaliate. This diplomatic rhetoric further allows Iran to control the situation.
13.jpg
To downplay the US role, Iran has completely refused to acknowledge President Donald Trump's mediation. Iranian state television pointed out that President Trump had urged a ceasefire in a "near-pleading" manner, and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps described the US military's deterrence as a "paper tiger."
4-9650.jpg
While launching a series of propaganda campaigns, Iran took the opportunity to launch a wave of "missile rain" on Israel, catching Israel by surprise and putting President Trump in a dilemma. Because Defense Minister Israel Katz insisted that Iran was the first to violate the ceasefire agreement and declared that Israel would retaliate, while the Iranian military denied launching the missiles.
15.jpg
Faced with a situation where both sides appear to be “victims rather than the cause,” President Trump had to publicly accuse “Israel and Iran of violating the ceasefire agreement.” This time, the US not only failed to make Iran surrender immediately, but also caused a fatal rift in the US-Israel alliance.
1-4806.jpg
In the long run, the ceasefire agreement is just a piece of paper with no guarantees for Iran and Israel. The hatred and contradictions between the two countries are completely irresolvable. In the future, just a spark will be enough to ignite the Middle East powder keg. The brief silence in the smoke is just a breath of the next storm.
