The new 2026 Kawasaki KLX230 DF off-road dirt bike has a tough and modern look with a "stealth" style with dark tones as the main theme. The frame, engine, and rims are all painted black, combined with the earthy brown exterior to help the bike blend in with the mountainous terrain.
The biggest difference between the KLX230 DF and the standard version lies in the off-road support system. The vehicle is equipped with a sturdy black engine protection cover, helping to prevent impacts from below. Compact side guards are pre-installed to protect the engine block in the event of a fall. Additionally, handguards are standard equipment, helping to protect the rider's hands from trees or flying rocks when traveling on the trail. Another handy feature is the sturdy steel cargo rack, which can hold up to 6.5 pounds (3 kg), and comes with four pre-welded hooks for tying down cargo straps – perfect for long trips or backpacking.
In terms of chassis, the KLX230 DF is equipped with 37mm front forks with 200mm of travel and a rear shock absorber with linkage support, preload adjustment with 223mm of travel. These features help the vehicle absorb shock well when moving on rough terrain. The vehicle uses specialized IRC Trails off-road tires, with sizes of 21 inches in the front and 18 inches in the rear, providing good grip on many types of surfaces. The petal disc brake system provides good heat dissipation: 265mm front disc with 2-piston brake caliper, 220mm rear disc with 1 piston. In particular, the vehicle is equipped with standard dual-channel ABS, supporting safety when braking suddenly, and can be disabled if necessary to maximize the off-road experience. The KLX230 DF uses a single-cylinder, 233cc, air-cooled engine with an EFI electronic fuel injection system. This engine produces a maximum capacity of about 17 horsepower and a torque of over 18Nm.
The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, allowing for flexible operation at both low and high speeds. This is a simple, durable, easy-to-maintain engine – ideal for both beginners and experienced riders. The 2026 Kawasaki KLX230 DF ABS is listed in the US at $5,799 (about 152.5 million VND), a price that is $500 higher than the standard 2025 KLX230 ABS version. This is a reasonable price given the enhanced off-road and touring equipment that the vehicle possesses.
