On July 16th, at the ICISE Center (Quy Nhon City, Binh Dinh Province), the opening ceremony of two international scientific events on training human resources and young researchers in the field of fundamental particle physics took place: the 8th Vietnam Neutrino Class and the 30th Vietnam Physics Class, attracting 66 professors and young researchers from 18 countries and territories.
Professor Tran Thanh Van, President of the Vietnam Meeting of Scientists Association (managing the ICISE Center), said that the 8th Vietnam Neutrino Class will have 32 young scientists and researchers from Japan, China, India, Italy, and Vietnam. The class will invite many leading professors and scientists from research institutes and universities in Japan, the UK, India, and China to provide young researchers with knowledge about particle physics, neutrino physics; fundamental principles and modern techniques for detecting neutrinos; and neutrino projects currently underway and planned worldwide . In addition, participants will learn specific skills, such as simulating neutrino interactions and classifying interactions through images obtained from detectors in the Super-Kamiokande (SK) experiment – which directly contributed to the 2015 Nobel Prize in Physics.
The 30th Vietnam Physics Class brought together 34 scientists and researchers from 13 countries and territories. The class aimed to connect students and young researchers passionate about physics, allowing them to access and update their knowledge of new research methods in fundamental particle physics and dark matter with professors from Taiwan, the UK, France, India, Belgium, and other countries.
“These are two annual courses organized by the Vietnam Meeting of Scientists Association to connect, update knowledge, and train new personnel for fundamental physics. Through this, young students in Vietnam and around the world can interact with leading professors, creating relationships between teachers and students, colleagues, and friends to support each other on their research journey. This is also a great opportunity for young Vietnamese students to seek doctoral and postdoctoral research scholarships at major universities and research institutes worldwide, contributing to strengthening the fundamental physics research force in Vietnam,” Professor Tran Thanh Van shared.
