Vietnam's infertility treatment regimen introduced at international scientific conference

The results of this new treatment regimen were published in the international journal Fertility & Sterility - the official journal of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and were also introduced at the Asia CORE 2025 Regional Conference held in Bali (Indonesia), along with many other international scientific conferences, marking an important step forward for the Vietnamese reproductive support profession on the global reproductive support map.

The "Saigon Protocol" is built on the basis of the "American-German IVM" technique (in vitro fertilization without ovarian stimulation) but is more groundbreaking, creating a "revolution" for the "Saigon Protocol", and at the same time bringing many outstanding advantages compared to the traditional frozen embryo transfer IVF that is popular today - helping women have a more comfortable journey to find children and improve the vitality of the embryo such as: saving costs (about 30% reduction in the cost of ovarian stimulation drugs, no need to freeze embryos and transfer frozen embryos), no pain due to no injections, safer, shortened treatment time and better quality of embryos and endometrium.

"Saigon Protocol" is suitable for groups of patients with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), women with Gonadotropin-resistant ovarian syndrome (GROS) or women with normal or good ovarian reserve, who want to have IVF treatment in a simple, friendly way.

According to Dr. Le Khac Tien, Deputy Head of the My Duc Phu Nhuan IVF Unit, the trend of infertility treatment in the world is shifting towards becoming more friendly and simpler for patients. Vietnam is no exception to that trend.

Previously, the ovulation stimulation process usually lasted 20–25 days with 2–3 injections per day, leading to many complications. Later, the ovulation stimulation time was reduced to about 2 weeks but still had the potential risk of ovarian hyperstimulation, and most patients had to transfer frozen embryos.

"Saigon Protocol" opens a new era of infertility treatment - friendly, no egg stimulation and completely eliminates the risk of ovarian hyperstimulation and patients can still receive safe and effective fresh embryo transfer.

“With the "Saigon Protocol", we hope to bring another safe, friendly, and effective infertility treatment option equivalent to traditional IVF, for cases with suitable indications,” Dr. Le Khac Tien informed.
