More than 100 representatives from travel companies and travel agents from the Middle East market and countries in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) attended the online seminar with leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, Emirates Airlines, Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang Tourism Association, Central Golf Course Alliance, and tourism businesses in the city.
Online seminar "Introducing Da Nang tourism to the Middle East market 2025" on May 20.
The workshop emphasized the readiness of the Da Nang government, tourism industry and businesses in serving Middle Eastern tourists through Halal-certified products, luxury accommodation systems and personalized experiences according to market needs.
International partners are particularly interested in visa policies, entry procedures and support mechanisms for Middle Eastern tourists when coming to Da Nang. This is also an opportunity for the parties to discuss, connect, and expand cooperation opportunities, aiming to effectively exploit new flight routes.
Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang Nguyen Thi Hoai An emphasized that the Middle East market is one of the potential international tourist segments that Da Nang is targeting. Through this workshop, we aim to promote the image of Da Nang more strongly, while creating favorable conditions for the business community to expand connections and access new and promising markets.
Da Nang is the third city in Vietnam, after Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, that Emirates Airlines has put into operation since June 2, 2025 with a frequency of 4 flights/week. In the context of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Vietnam and the UAE having been officially signed, opening a flight route to Da Nang is considered a strategic step to attract high-end customers from the Middle East and Europe, while contributing to enhancing the tourism position of Central Vietnam on the international tourism map.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An said that in order to prepare well for welcoming and serving this market, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has organized training programs, updated information on orientation for serving Middle Eastern guests; coordinated the organization of seminars on applying Halal standards at dining and accommodation establishments with the participation of more than 200 service businesses; developed publications guiding culture and specialized service procedures for Muslim guests.
