Tourists visiting Quang Ngai will have no shortage of things to do from April 30th until the end of summer.

Quang Ngai is focusing on organizing many unique cultural, sports , and tourism activities to stimulate tourism during the April 30th and May 1st holidays, and throughout the peak summer season.

To stimulate tourism, Quang Ngai will organize the Quang Ngai Tourism Week 2024, taking place from April 22nd to May 5th, 2024. The opening ceremony will be held on April 27th, 2024 in Ly Son district. The closing ceremony will take place on May 5th, 2024 in Nghia Hanh district.

The Tourism Week includes many activities such as: Organizing field trips and providing media services to promote tourism products; a seminar on "Developing rural tourism and community tourism in Quang Ngai province - Opportunities and prospects"; the Khao Le The Linh Hoang Sa ceremony and the traditional Four Sacred Animals boat race...

In addition, there will be the Quang Ngai Provincial Women's Beach Volleyball Tournament; the Exhibition of Marine and Island Cultural Heritage; the "Each OCOP Product Tells a Story" Festival; and a community-based agricultural and rural tourism space.

The series of cultural, sports, and tourism events in Ly Son from May to August 2024 will also include activities such as: Hot air balloon festival (flying to Ly Son); artistic kite flying; open water swimming competition; Ly Son cross-country running race - Following in the footsteps of the frontline…

Speaking to Lao Dong newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Ngai province, said that the Quang Ngai Tourism Week and the series of cultural, sports and tourism events in Ly Son in 2024 aim to introduce and promote the beauty of the homeland, country, and people of Quang Ngai in general, and Ly Son in particular; contributing to stimulating demand and attracting tourists.

To date, preparations for the Quang Ngai Tourism Week - Ly Son Island Cultural, Sports, and Tourism Event Series in 2024 have been basically completed according to the plan of the Provincial People's Committee. Mr. Ta Cong Chuc - Deputy Director of the Sa Ky Port Management Board and Inland Waterway Port Authority (Quang Ngai) said that to serve the tourism week, the unit has planned to increase the number of ferry trips from Sa Ky Port to Ly Son Island and vice versa from 7 to 9 trips per day.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Ngai Provincial People's Committee, said that in addition to the upcoming Quang Ngai Tourism Week, Quang Ngai plans to invest in the comprehensive development of transportation infrastructure linked to tourism infrastructure in the long term, improving transportation connectivity to historical sites and tourist destinations; and calling for investment in entertainment activities to serve local people and tourists.

Regarding the development of marine and island tourism, the province has directed the development of a plan to transform Ly Son district into a marine and island tourism center, in accordance with Resolution 26 of the Politburo. The draft plan has been completed and is currently undergoing the review and approval process for implementation in the near future.

Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan emphasized that, in order for Ly Son to become a center for island and coastal tourism, Quang Ngai prioritizes attracting social resources to invest in large-scale technical infrastructure projects according to the Ly Son urban zoning plan, such as: an airport, a passenger seaport; and attracting investment in high-end hotels, resorts, and large-scale entertainment facilities. This will meet the increasingly high and diverse needs of tourists.
