Báo Dân tríBáo Dân trí30/12/2024

(Dan Tri) - A group of Chinese tourists came to Nha Trang city (Khanh Hoa) for tourism , were threatened by a subject, who invited his accomplices to follow them for nearly 1km, demanding to collect 200,000 VND in beach fees.

On December 30, Mr. Pham Minh Nhut, Vice President of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, confirmed that he had signed a document to send to Nha Trang City People's Committee to reflect on the situation of soliciting and illegally collecting fees from tourists, affecting the image of Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa tourism.

According to Mr. Nhut, previously, this unit had received a complaint from the Khanh Hoa Tourist Guide Association about the situation of tourists walking along the Nha Trang coast, being followed by some people who collected money and said: "This is our beach, I need to collect a fee from you, each person is 200,000 VND".

"Tourists asked why they had to charge a fee at a public beach when they were just walking along the beach, but they didn't answer and just said "fee". Tourists refused to pay, so they called a group of thugs to surround them and follow them for nearly 1km. Wherever they went, they blocked the way of tourists," informed the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association.

Tourists filmed three clips of some of the subjects, sent them to their tour guides, and shared them on Chinese social networks. These clips were also collected by the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association and sent to the Nha Trang City People's Committee.

According to Mr. Nhut, the behavior of the above group of subjects shows signs of violating the law, creating a bad image for tourism in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa, affecting the security and safety of international tourists in general and Chinese tourists in particular.

"These images and information have spread on social networking sites in China, and will affect the number of tourists coming to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa in the near future," the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association emphasized.

Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association requested the authorities of Nha Trang city to strengthen patrolling, control and take measures to prevent the above situation, improve the tourism environment and social order and safety in the locality, contributing to preserving and developing the brand "Nha Trang, a Safe - Friendly - Civilized destination".

According to Mr. Minh, the city has asked the association to provide more clips. At the same time, it has directed the city police and related departments to urgently verify the content of the association's reflection.

"If the verification is correct, the subjects will be strictly handled according to the provisions of the law," Mr. Minh emphasized.
