Hotel in Hanoi receives more than 27,000 1-star reviews after guest 'stolen' room

'Rain of complaints, storm of 1 star' is what the hotel on Hang Chao street (Hanoi) received after a guest "stolen" their room at 2am.

Recently, a video went viral on social media of a female tourist being refused a hotel room despite having booked and paid in full, due to her late arrival.

Immediately after being posted, the female tourist's video went viral and received attention from the online community.

According to the video, the girl named NYQ booked a room at a hotel on Hang Chao Street (O Cho Dua Ward, Hanoi ). The entire reservation fee was paid in full for the stay from November 7 to 10.

However, due to the impact of the storm, the female tourist arrived in Hanoi later than expected. According to the video, the girl arrived at the hotel at around 2am on November 8 to check in.

At this time, the hotel receptionist informed her that she was late, that there was no room left and that it had been rented to someone else. Unable to get a room, Ms. Q. had to take a taxi to find another place to stay for the night.

On November 10, the hotel proactively contacted Ms. Q. and offered to refund the amount paid. However, Ms. Q. said she was not satisfied with the solution.

After the incident spread on social media, the hotel received many negative responses. On the evening of November 11, the hotel's location on Google Maps received more than 27,200 1-star reviews, along with many reviews about the service attitude of the hotel staff.

Quynh Anh Pham shared: "The staff's attitude is extremely bad. The customer booked a room on Booking for a month, but when the day was near, they said there were no rooms available, no rooms available. They asked the customer to cancel the room on Booking and demanded a price increase.

The house has no parking space for cars or motorbikes, and there is no staff to advise guests when they want to book a room. When guests ask for directions or parking, the hotel tells them to find out where to park themselves.

On November 11, O Cho Dua Ward Police (Hanoi City) assigned officers to clarify the above customer's complaint.
