On July 22, the Security Center of Da Nang International Airport confirmed the incident in which a passenger spread rumors that there was a grenade in his suitcase on a flight from Da Nang to Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, at 3:15 p.m. on July 21 at Da Nang airport, when flight VN131 was about 10 minutes away from taking off, passenger Nguyen Thanh P, seat number 28E, spread the news that there was a grenade in his suitcase.

The flight attendant then confirmed the incident and reported it to the flight captain. The captain decided to cut off the group of four passengers.
Upon receiving the information, the Aviation Security on duty immediately reports to the competent authority and relevant units to assess and decide to re-check the security of all passengers, luggage and goods.
At the same time, the aircraft was searched and the group of four people and their carry-on luggage were searched.
By 4:40 p.m. the same day, the work of checking goods, people and carry-on luggage and searching the aircraft was completed.
The airline agreed to reissue boarding orders at 4:45 p.m. and depart the next flight.
The case is currently being handled by the authorities according to the law.
