On the morning of October 6, 2023, Hanoi University of Culture solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the 2023-2024 school year, welcoming 1,569 new students of K64 and receiving the Certificate of quality assessment of higher education institutions.
Attending and sharing the joy with teachers and students of the school on this occasion, Associate Professor Dr. Ta Quang Dong, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism emphasized that Hanoi University of Culture is the largest university training institution, one of the key training institutions of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, where high-quality human resources and scientific research are trained in the field of culture in Vietnam.
Over the past 64 years, the University has provided the cultural sector with tens of thousands of cultural bachelors, thousands of masters and doctors. This human resource has been and is making an important contribution to building an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with national identity, working in cultural affairs and cultural research at all cultural units, press agencies, tourism sectors, libraries and museums from central to local levels throughout the country.

“The above results have partly affirmed the brand of Hanoi University of Culture, affirmed the position of the University, attracted a large number of candidates to register for admission to the University every year…”, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong affirmed.
The Ministry's leaders also acknowledged that, entering the 2023-2024 school year, the university admissions of the School have reached over 100% of the target, with quite high input quality. In particular, on this occasion, the School was assessed and recognized by the Thang Long Education Quality Assessment Center as meeting quality standards for higher education institutions. This demonstrates that the culture of quality and quality assurance has gradually been formed, consolidated and entered into the habits and working style of each unit and individual in the School.
To meet the development requirements of the Industry, the expectations of society and the trends of modern higher education, the Deputy Minister suggested that Hanoi University of Culture in the coming time should focus on researching, reviewing, restructuring, and building a development strategy for the University until 2030, with a vision to 2040, ensuring a vision that is consistent with the trends and requirements of human resource development, serving the socio-economic development of the industry and the country.
In addition, focus on improving the quality of the school's teaching staff and management staff; with special attention paid to the teaching staff, researchers, management staff, and successors.

“There are ways to effectively mobilize and promote resources, accelerate the implementation of university autonomy, first of all autonomy in academics, scientific research, staff development, associated with the goal of improving the quality of training. At the same time, promote training linkages; strengthen connections with agencies, businesses, professional associations... to create conditions for students to intern, practice and find jobs after graduation.
“Effectively implement the Party’s specialized Resolutions on culture, Projects and Cultural Development Strategies approved by the Prime Minister, focusing on training cultural talents, preparing professional and foreign language conditions and having specific plans to send students and lecturers for training abroad,” Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong said.

Prof. Dr. Pham Thi Thu Huong, Principal of the School, sent her congratulations to 1,569 new students of the K64 generation who have become new members of the big family of Hanoi University of Culture. In the 2022-2023 school year, with solidarity and constant efforts, teachers and students of Hanoi University of Culture have successfully completed their tasks in all areas, continuing to affirm the School as a key training institution in the field of culture, the largest training institution of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

In particular, according to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thu Huong, the School has completed an extremely important but also very heavy task for higher education institutions, which is the Quality Assessment of Educational Institutions. The assessment results are a declaration of the School's quality and a premise for building a quality culture for educational institutions.
One of the key tasks of the new school year is to build a culture of quality in higher education, taking quality as the foundation and a consistent requirement in all higher education activities; comprehensively implementing solutions to ensure quality in enrollment, training, and research; closely linking the task of human resource development with the development of science, technology, and innovation.

To meet the requirements of higher education in the new period and the key tasks set out, according to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thu Huong, the school needs to carry out a number of key tasks such as: Improving the quality and qualifications of lecturers and continuing to promote international publications; Implementing the digital transformation plan issued by the school; Rebuilding all output standards, training programs, course outlines of 13 undergraduate training majors, 6 master's training programs, 3 doctoral training programs; Developing program standards for the field of Tourism for universities in Vietnam; Developing plans and implementing the development of self-assessment reports for selected training programs. Implementing necessary improvement activities to serve the accreditation of training programs.
Sending a heartfelt message to nearly 1,600 new students, the school's Principal advised: We are living in an era of unprecedented change and challenges, which are volatility, uncertainty and complexity. Technology is developing at a dizzying speed, erasing all borders and barriers, reshaping every aspect of social life.

At the ceremony, the school leaders respectfully received the Certificate of Quality Assessment of Higher Education Institutions from Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Phung - Director of the Center. This is an event of special significance, marking a remarkable transformation and affirming the new position of Hanoi University of Culture in the education and training system in the coming time.
