This is a major festival in response to the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) taking place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 19, April 26, April 29 and April 30 with many activities held at the following locations: in front of the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of the city; Nguyen Hue-Le Loi walking area; Nguyen Hue-Mac Thi Buoi walking area; Nguyen Hue-Ngo Duc Ke walking area; Bach Dang Wharf Park area.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Tran Thi Dieu Thuy said that the festival "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" is not only a simple cultural and artistic event, but also has profound political and historical significance.
This is an opportunity for the people of the city and the whole country to honor the values of independence and freedom, pay tribute to the generations of fathers and brothers who died for the cause of national liberation, and at the same time promote the image of a modern, creative, affectionate and integrated city to domestic and international friends.
During the opening ceremony, delegates and audiences were impressed and delighted by the Light Festival - International 3D Mapping Technology Demonstration with the participation of Mapping teams from the Republic of France, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Island Nation of Singapore and Vietnam.

The symphony and choral concert program combined with Mapping Visual Art performance technology is a new creation, promoting the intersection and interaction of academic and contemporary art forms, also performed at the City People's Committee.
In addition to the 3D Mapping technology performance, on Nguyen Hue walking street, there are also many performances of singing, dancing, folk music, traditional theater, sports performances, street entertainment... creating a grand, jubilant and joyful art and entertainment feast.

Specifically, in the area of Bach Dang Park and Saigon River (from Ba Son Bridge to Nha Rong Wharf), traditional music activities, contemporary art performances on floating stages, and water sports performances also contribute to expanding the festival space.

In the city sky, in front of Nguyen Hue walking street, light formation performances by drone technology and artistic fireworks further increased the program's appeal.
In addition to many art and sports activities, thematic exhibitions and public film screenings taking place on Nguyen Hue walking street also create unique spaces with many messages about patriotism, historical values, revolutionary traditions, love for the sea and islands and proud achievements in the process of building and developing the city.

After the opening night of April 19, the nights of April 26 and April 29 will also continue to feature exciting cultural, sports and technology performances. The night of April 30, with the theme “National Reunification Day”, promises to be an explosive night with trumpet performances, cavalry parades, community arts and especially a light formation performance by drone technology expected to set a world record with 10,500 devices (Drone).

The series of activities with the theme "Colors of Uncle Ho's City" gathered most of the art units including: City Art Center; City Symphony, Music and Dance Theater; Lotus Folk Song, Dance and Music Theater; City Hat Boi Art Theater; City Culture and Exhibition Center; City Sports and Physical Education Service Center; City Water Sports Center with the participation of thousands of artisans, singers, artists, actors, dancers, athletes, martial arts clubs operating in the arts and sports in the area.
