Opening Ceremony of Co To Island and Beach Tourism

(PLVN) - On the evening of April 26th, the opening ceremony of the Co To Island and Sea Tourism 2025 took place in Co To district (Quang Ninh province) with the theme: "Co To - Where the waves call the sun," featuring many new services for entertainment and exploration of the islands and sea.

This event marks the beginning of a series of tourism stimulus activities in Co To district in 2025, and is also a practical activity to celebrate major national holidays: the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the National Tourism Year 2025.

Le Ngoc Han, Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To District, delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To District, Le Ngoc Han, said that 2025 marks a turning point in the development orientation of tourism in the island district. With the profound attention of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee, along with the proactive and creative spirit of the government and people, Co To is gradually improving its infrastructure, expanding the tourism development space, and diversifying products, from community-based tourism, ecotourism, and island experiences to smart tourism products, associated with green, clean, and sustainable trends.

“We are committed to continuing to build Co To into a ‘green island worth living on, worth visiting, and worth remembering,’ a place where Vietnamese cultural, ecological, and spiritual values ​​converge. With our sincere affection and hospitality, and with your support, we believe that Co To will increasingly become a friendly, attractive destination that leaves a lasting impression on tourists,” emphasized the Secretary of the District Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Co To District.

Ms. Le Ngoc Han shared that the theme "Co To - Where the waves call the sun" is a message affirming the strong aspiration of the island district to rise up, expressing the desire to make Co To tourism a green and sustainable economic sector, linked to firmly protecting maritime sovereignty , preserving local cultural values, and protecting the ecological environment.

The grand art display "Co To - Where the Waves Call the Sun" combines water drum performances, modern lighting, and a beach ao dai fashion show, bringing together more than 50 professional and amateur artists.

In addition, locals and tourists can admire a beautiful photo exhibition about Co To, along with a model of the most modern high-speed ferry – a symbol of the strong and groundbreaking investment in the development of tourism in the island district.

New features for Co To tourism in 2025: “Green tourism - clean experiences - civilized destination” is the piloting of many new products and services aimed at green, environmentally friendly, and sustainable tourism trends.

The art program included 7 spectacular performances, celebrating the natural beauty, people, and potential for tourism, economic, cultural, and social development of the island district.
