On the morning of November 29, the opening ceremony of the VJSS Children's Football Tournament in Ho Chi Minh City - Yamaha Cup 2025 took place at Thu Duc Football Club. The tournament took place over 2 days, November 29 and 30, bringing together 480 young athletes from 32 primary schools in Ho Chi Minh City.
The participating teams are divided into 8 groups, playing a round robin. After the group stage, the teams will be ranked to compete in 4 divisions: Champion A, B, C and D. This model ensures that no team is eliminated early, each team has the opportunity to play to the final match and compete for the championship trophy in their division.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Anh - Head of the Organizing Committee, Director of VJSS Football Center said that the tournament is not only to find a champion. More importantly, it is to create a professional, safe and fair playground for primary school students.
He emphasized: "We hope that through this tournament, children will be able to practice their health, teamwork skills and nurture their passion for football."
Mr. Vo Tran Huy - Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor Vietnam - shared: "We believe that investing in youth football is investing in the future. And we are very proud to be able to 'fuel' the passion of 480 young players at this year's tournament."
Results of the first 8 matches of the opening day: Phuoc Binh - Nguyen Van Luong 0-2, Binh Hung - An Phu 0-1, Lac Long Quan - Hiep Phu 2-10, Tan Thanh - Le Thanh Duy 0-1, Tran Quang Co - Le Quang Dinh 3-1, Nguyen Dinh Chieu - Luong Dinh Cua 1-2.
