Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Vu Thu Ha - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said that Hanoi is not only the national political and administrative center, but also a major center of culture, science, education, economy and international transactions, a driving force for the development of the Red River Delta and the whole country. This is the place where national culture converges, crystallizes and shines.

With over 1,000 years of history, Hanoi has been recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity with tens of thousands of tangible and intangible cultural heritages and traditional handicraft villages. The city has focused on promoting and exploiting the values ​​of cultural heritage with unique and distinctive products to develop the cultural and tourism industry bearing the mark and characteristics of the capital Hanoi to gradually position the cultural brand of the capital and the country in the region and internationally.

Ho Chi Minh City is a major center of economics, finance, trade, culture, science and technology, innovation, education and training of the Southern key economic region and the whole country, an important gateway connecting with the region and the world. Ho Chi Minh City is also a place with a unique, rich and diverse cultural treasure with many historical and revolutionary relics.

According to Ms. Thu Ha, the program "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" is an opportunity for people of the two cities to review the heroic history of the nation, meet, share, promote, advertise, and introduce the unique cultural features, potentials and people of each locality to the public and tourists, deepening the close and lasting relationship between the two localities.

In his welcoming speech, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai stated that the series of activities "Hanoi Days in Ho Chi Minh City" not only has important significance, but also conveys the deep sentiments of the two cities on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2024), towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

This is also an opportunity for the two cities to promote and introduce their cultural, artistic, heritage, historical traditions, tourism products, craft village products, and unique and typical agricultural products to the people and domestic and international tourists. At the same time, it will further strengthen the affection and sustainable cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and the capital Hanoi.
