Vietnam - US Friendship Exchange to take place in Da Nang

On June 22, the Vietnam - US Friendship Exchange program will take place in Da Nang city, organized by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations in coordination with the US Embassy and Consulate General, and the Da Nang City People's Committee. The event takes place to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the normalization and establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the United States (July 12, 1995 - July 12, 2025).

The program is expected to have the participation of leaders of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations; leaders of the People's Committee and departments and branches of Da Nang city; the Union of Friendship Organizations and the Vietnam - US Association of neighboring localities; the Hanoi Club of former Vietnamese students in the United States; representatives of businesses, research institutes, universities, scholars and individuals with cooperative relations with the United States.

On the US side, there were representatives from the US Embassy in Vietnam, the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City; businesses, non-governmental organizations and US friends living and working in Vietnam.

The series of activities will take place on Phan Dang Luu Avenue (Da Nang city), vividly reflecting the areas of cooperation between the two countries over the past three decades. The exhibition area introduces the activities of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam - US relations; US non-governmental organizations in Vietnam; achievements of Vietnam - US cooperation in Da Nang city... The US side brings exhibitions about the US Diplomatic Mission in Vietnam; 250-year journey of the US; innovation and development; education and exchange; American English; reconciliation journey; US businesses; and typical culinary booths...

Attendees will also experience many Vietnamese folk games (jumping on bamboo poles, sack jumping, blindfolded ball hitting, pouring water into bottles, hopscotch...) and American-style games (ring toss, three-legged race, frisbee, Hula Hoop, bottle flipping, keeping the ball from being taken by the opponent, basketball...).

In addition, the program also screened videos introducing Vietnam - US relations, promoting Da Nang tourism and US culture.

The highlight of the event was the Vietnam - US art exchange program with musical performances and art performances imbued with national identity, contributing to creating a vibrant atmosphere and cultural connection between the two nations.

The program is open to the public and welcomes locals and visitors.
