Opening of Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2024

Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Huynh The Manh - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department, Thai Thanh Binh - Chairman of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee, Trinh Duy Thuan - Secretary of the Pleiku City Party Committee, Pham Thi To Hai - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Flower Week Organizing Committee; leaders of provincial and district departments, branches and sectors, and people and tourists from inside and outside the province and abroad.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich affirmed: Chu Pah is a locality rich in potential for resources, tourism and hydropower. In particular, Chu Dang Ya was voted by a British magazine as one of the 10 most beautiful volcanic craters in the world in 2018.

“The place where we stand here to welcome the Wild Sunflower Week is the communal house of Ia Gri village at the foot of Chu Dang Ya mountain - a volcano that has been inactive for millions of years and the vestiges left behind are majestic landscapes immersed in clouds, lush green in spring, bright red with canna flowers in summer and dyed yellow with wild sunflowers in early winter.

With the sincere, warm and hospitable feelings of the people of Gia Lai, we hope to have the joint efforts of individuals and organizations to preserve and protect the natural landscape and environment; together preserve and promote the cultural identity of ethnic groups; seek many cooperation opportunities, attract many investment resources to develop Gia Lai province into a prosperous and strong province, build a green plateau for health" - the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized.

The opening ceremony took place with many attractive contents such as: gong performance; clip screening "Chu Dang Ya and flowers", "Chu Dang Ya and festivals". Another highlight event was the announcement of the Vietnamese record with the content "The Central Highlands gong performance program has the largest number of artisans, actors and students participating in Vietnam" for the gong performance "Echo of the Great Forest" performed by more than 1,300 artisans, actors and students within the framework of Gia Lai Culture - Tourism Week 2023.

This is a performance to honor the Gong Cultural Space of the ethnic groups of the 5 Central Highlands provinces: Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Dak Nong, Lam Dong. The event attracted more than 50,000 visitors and left many good impressions, actively contributing to promoting the image and people of Gia Lai in particular, and the Central Highlands in general to the whole country and the world.

Next is the art program to welcome the Opening Ceremony of Flower Week performed by artists and actors of Dam San Music and Dance Theater with the theme "Chu Dang Ya - Wild sunflowers, my love". The program includes special singing and dancing performances praising the natural beauty and people of Chu Dang Ya and Chu Pah such as: "Fragrance and color of mountains and flowers", "Wild sunflowers", "Chu Pah, my love", "Color of wild sunflowers".

After the opening ceremony, in 3 key days (from November 8 to 10), the Wild Sunflower Week - Chu Dang Ya Volcano 2024 took place with many attractive cultural and sports activities. This is an extremely meaningful event to continue promoting the image of wild sunflowers associated with Chu Dang Ya volcano, affirming and enhancing the position that has been voted by the Vietnam Record Organization Vietking (ranking in the top 10 most attractive destinations in Gia Lai).
