To clarify this issue, Dak Lak Newspaper and Radio and Television reporters had an interview with Mr. Tran Hong Tien, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the province.

After the merger, Dak Lak province has many advantages in terms of cultural and natural exchange between the Central Highlands and the Central Coast. In the West are the communities of the Ede, M'nong, Gia Rai ethnic groups and some northern ethnic groups that migrated. In the East are the Ede, Cham, Ba Na communities... associated with the rich forest - sea - lake - waterfall ecosystem. This place also has many revolutionary historical relics, unique culinary culture of the forest - sea and globally famous coffee brands.

With two airports in Buon Ma Thuot and Tuy Hoa and an increasingly developed transportation system, tourists can easily travel from the sea to the forest, from cultural heritage to eco-tourism areas. Currently, many travel agencies are surveying tourist routes connecting East - West Dak Lak, forming a series of unique discovery journeys with impressive stops such as: Thuy Tien waterfall, Ea So nature reserve...

The exploitation and synchronous connection of cultural and natural advantages will create momentum for Dak Lak tourism to break through, become a spearhead economic sector, and strongly contribute to the province's socio-economic growth in the coming period.

Dak Lak possesses many tangible and intangible heritages, including two intangible cultural heritages recognized by UNESCO: the Central Highlands gong cultural space and the art of Bai Choi.

Regarding the Central Highlands gong cultural space, the province has actively implemented Resolution No. 10/2021/NQ-HDND, dated December 17, 2021 on "Preserving and promoting gong culture in Dak Lak province for the period 2022 - 2025". Up to now, the locality has provided 52 sets of gongs and nearly 800 traditional costumes; organized more than 70 classes to teach gong playing skills to youth clubs; formed nearly 500 gong teams and art troupes to serve cultural events, reaching 85% of the resolution target. In the coming time, the province will continue to expand the scale and improve the quality of gong teams, striving to complete 100% of the target by the end of 2025.

Regarding the art of Bài Chòi, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has restored and staged it to perform for the people and tourists; proposed to add a budget to train and foster artisans to preserve this art form. In the near future, Bài Chòi will be introduced at the exhibition “80 years of the Journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness” taking place from August 28 to September 5 in Hanoi. Thereby, contributing to widely promoting and arousing pride in the unique cultural identity of Dak Lak.

In addition, the Provincial People's Committee also allocates additional budget to invest in, renovate and embellish historical relics and cultural works, especially those closely related to the lives of ethnic communities. This is a task that the province pays special attention to with the goal of preserving and promoting unique cultural values that have been preserved and passed down through many generations.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dak Lak has promoted tourism through activities introducing traditional culture, typically bringing gong artisans, brocade weavers, and Yang Tao pottery makers to perform at international fairs in Hanoi and many major cultural and tourism events in the country. Thereby, highlighting the diversity and uniqueness of Dak Lak culture, attracting the attention and arousing the desire to explore of tourists.

In the coming time, the culture and tourism sector will coordinate to organize art events to introduce the unique cultural features of both the West and East of the province in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, etc.

In particular, the knowledge of growing and processing coffee in Dak Lak has just been recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a national intangible cultural heritage, a unique cultural resource for tourism development. Currently, we are coordinating to build a dossier, submit to UNESCO for recognition of this heritage at the international level, creating attraction and brand for the image of Dak Lak on the world tourism map. In addition, the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, with 9 successful events, continues to be maintained and enhanced, becoming an important cultural and tourism highlight.

This activity not only contributes to preserving, promoting and effectively exploiting traditional cultural values but also creates a driving force to promote sustainable development of Dak Lak tourism.
