According to Linh, to have a beautiful photo set at Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the photographer needs to pay attention to 3 factors. First, the best time to take photos is when the sun is shining. "Thang Long Imperial Citadel is large, with many domes, so there is no fear of harsh sunlight. The sun slanting into the arched eaves will be very beautiful. The day I went to take photos, it was quite late and crowded, so I could not take advantage of many other angles. I will probably continue taking photos on another sunny occasion. In summer, you should take photos early in the morning, in winter, take photos from noon onwards when the light is strongest," Mai Linh shared.
According to the 9X girl, the second thing to note is to choose an outfit that matches the ancient setting of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. Visitors can choose Ao Dai or Vietnamese costume. "If you are not suitable for the above two types of outfits, you should choose monochrome clothes with few patterns or avoid flashy patterns and flamboyant details. You should choose dark, pastel tones which are more suitable.
The outfits look elegant, gentle and discreet. I often choose loose clothes and combine 2 or more outfits to make it easier to pose. No matter what type of outfit I choose, whether the color and pattern of the outfit are suitable for the shooting scene and the purpose of the photo shoot are 2 factors that I think greatly determine the success of a photo set," Mai Linh shared.
Above is the picture that Linh is most satisfied with in the whole photo series because of the harmony between the architectural lines, people and trees.
The third point to note is the shooting angle - photo composition. Linh said: "The architectural features of the Imperial Citadel are very suitable for shooting angles from above. Most of my photo sets are taken from such angles, and I also noticed that beautiful photo sets of other photographers also use many shooting directions like this when taking photos at the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long. This is also easy, because the Imperial Citadel is large, so choosing a place to stand and take photos is not too difficult, just need to observe a little."
9X advises that when taking photos, you should not go sightseeing. Especially in places with many long, large buildings and open spaces like the Imperial Citadel, taking the whole building will make the photo unbalanced and the whole set of photos "chaotic". In addition, photographers can refer to beautiful sets of photos in advance, see shooting angles from images posted online.
Mai Linh hopes that no matter where you take photos, everyone will preserve the landscape, not litter or throw plastic water bottles around, and try to find the nearest trash can to throw them away.
