On the morning of July 12, dozens of people with revolutionary contributions were present at Clinic 136 (Nhieu Loc Ward) for bone and joint - neurological examination. Among them was Mr. Pham Van Dong (73 years old), a veteran who participated in the resistance war against the US to save the country with the mission of transmitting messages since 1969.

After years of resistance, Uncle Dong was exposed to Agent Orange with a 47% body injury rate. In addition to diabetes and heart disease, Uncle Dong's spine is now in constant pain.

"When we were young and healthy, we joined the resistance war to save the country. Now that we are old, weak and have many illnesses, I am very happy to receive the attention and support of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Home Affairs and other units to have health check-ups like this," said Mr. Dong.

According to Dr. Huynh Van Phi, the program is a thank you to the previous generation, those who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones in exchange for today's independence and freedom.

"During the examination, I noticed that the uncles and aunts were quite excited when they were cared for and looked after. I also felt happy to be able to contribute a part of my efforts to this meaningful program," Dr. Phi shared.

Depending on the condition of the patient, each veteran or revolutionary who comes for examination will be prescribed physical therapy or given free medicine by the doctor. The program will last for 4 weeks and will provide free examinations for about 200 revolutionary veterans.
