( Bqp.vn ) - On the morning of October 25, in Hanoi, the Ministry of National Defense organized a scientific workshop "Vietnamese Volunteers and Military Experts Help the Lao Revolution - Historical Significance and Lessons Learned". The workshop is one of the practical activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnamese Volunteers and Military Experts Helping the Lao Revolution (October 30, 1949 - October 30, 2024), towards the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

Attending the workshop were leaders and former leaders of a number of Central Committees, Ministries and branches; Senior Lieutenant General Thongloi Silivong, member of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Lao People's Army; Ms. Khamphao Ernthavanh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam; representatives of leaders and commanders of a number of agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense; veteran revolutionaries, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces; generals, former volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese military experts who helped the Lao revolution, and many scientists inside and outside the Army.

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Senior Lieutenant General, Dr. Le Huy Vinh said that 75 years ago, on October 30, 1949, the Central Committee of the Indochinese Communist Party decided: The Vietnamese military forces fighting and working to help Laos were organized into a separate system and named Volunteer Army.

Under the wise leadership of the Party Central Committee, headed by President Ho Chi Minh, imbued with the ideology of "Helping the people of other countries means helping ourselves", promoting the tradition of the revolutionary army, true patriotism and pure proletarian internationalism, Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts stood shoulder to shoulder, worked together, and together with the entire Party, army and people of Laos, fought bravely, winning glorious victories in the cause of national liberation, building and firmly defending the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

The great contributions and sacrifices of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts directly consolidated and built the special tradition of fighting solidarity between Vietnam and Laos, Laos and Vietnam - a symbol of international proletarian solidarity, a unique model in the history of international relations.

Summarizing the milestones and typical achievements of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts, and of the Vietnam - Laos coalition in the struggle for national liberation, building and defending the Lao Fatherland, Lieutenant General Truong Thien To affirmed: 75 years have passed but the meaning and solidarity, the Vietnam - Laos fighting alliance still retain their value.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and affirmed the correctness and creativity in the proletarian international viewpoint and line of the Party Central Committee and President Ho Chi Minh on helping the Lao revolution; continued to affirm the Party's strategic vision on establishing Vietnamese volunteer troops and military experts - a part of the Vietnam People's Army to help the Lao revolution. In his closing speech at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General, Dr. Le Huy Vinh emphasized that the conference was an opportunity for us to continue affirming that organizing Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts to help the Lao revolution was the correct and wise policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam in carrying out international tasks for the Lao revolution. This was the basis for tightening the solidarity and fighting alliance between the two peoples, two Parties, two States and the People's Army of the two countries against the common enemy in order to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of each country and maintain peace on the Indochina peninsula.

This workshop is also an opportunity for each of us to understand more deeply and fully and honor the great contributions, sacrifices of generations of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military experts who carried out international missions to help the Lao revolution; at the same time, to express gratitude for the attention, support and facilitation of the Lao Party, State, Army and people for Vietnamese soldiers.
