Completing the Project to develop Ly Son island district into a center of sea and island tourism

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 4746/VPCP-KGVX conveying the opinion of Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh on the Project to develop Ly Son island district into a sea and island tourism center by 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Considering the proposal of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province in Submission No. 83/TTr-UBND dated April 29, 2025 on approving the "Project to develop Ly Son island district into a center of sea and island tourism by 2030, with a vision to 2045", Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh assigned the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province to consult the Ministries of National Defense, Agriculture and Environment on the draft Project.

On that basis, fully absorb the reasonable opinions of relevant Ministries and agencies to complete and approve the Project according to their authority, take full responsibility before the law for the content of the Project after completion; ensure adherence to the development goals and orientations in the Quang Ngai Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 (Decision No. 1456/QD-TTg dated November 22, 2023), consistent and synchronous with the development orientation on Ly Son island in national-level planning and relevant sectoral planning approved by competent authorities.

  Quang Ngai develops Ly Son island into an attractive tourist center

The People's Committee of Quang Ngai province shall preside over and coordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant agencies to proactively develop plans and implement the Project in accordance with the provisions of law, ensuring quality and efficiency, avoiding negativity, loss and waste; paying special attention to issues related to national defense, security, protection of marine resources and environment, and sustainable development; promptly reporting to competent authorities on arising issues that exceed their authority.

The Ministries of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Finance; Agriculture and Environment; and National Defense shall, according to their assigned functions and tasks, guide and closely coordinate with the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province in the process of completing and organizing the implementation of the Project.
