Survey and establish project to dredge Ngon River channel

The Provincial People's Committee has just directed the Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with relevant sectors and localities to survey and establish a project to dredge the Ngon River channel to ensure long-term sustainability and stability, creating favorable conditions for fishermen's boats to participate in aquatic exploitation.

According to the People's Committee of Dong Hoa Town, the Ngon River canal lock in Phu Tho 3 Quarter, Hoa Hiep Trung Ward is a place for local fishermen to anchor and take shelter. Every year, from February to August when the tide is low, fishing boats cannot enter and exit this lock because they are stranded in the canal at the narrow area of ​​the Ngon River canal, making it difficult for fishing boats to move to exploit aquatic products.

To ensure that fishing boats can enter and exit the Ngon River channel, every year the People's Committee of Dong Hoa town provides financial support of about 80-100 million VND, along with fishermen, to hire equipment to dredge the silted channel. However, due to limited funding, dredging this channel has not yet ensured long-term stability.
