When Math is Fun!

Quyen shared that, since he was a child, he has loved numbers, puzzles, and calculations given by his parents and teachers. In primary school, Quyen was passionate about solving difficult math problems and considered it a journey to find mystery and excitement; he was also supported by the school with a computer to participate in Violympic competitions (solving math online) and won prizes at all levels.

In the 2021-2022 school year, when studying in grade 8 at Le Quy Don Secondary School (Krong Nang district), Quyen won first prize in the district-level excellent student competition. In grade 9, Quyen transferred to Dong Du Secondary and High School to study and won first prize in the provincial excellent student selection competition at the secondary school level in the 2022-2023 school year. In grade 10, Quyen won third prize in the national excellent student selection competition at high school level in the 2023-2024 school year.

Talking about the secret to learning Math, Quyen shared that he always focuses on reading the theoretical parts in textbooks carefully because this is the solid foundation that helps him grasp knowledge deeply. After doing exercises, he will learn more about the expanded knowledge to increase his thinking ability and creativity in problem solving. Besides, he also regularly reads advanced books related to math topics of national exams. Participating in open courses sponsored by Dong Du Secondary and High School has helped Quyen access the leading math lecturers in the country; thereby improving his thinking ability, the way of thinking to understand the lesson, understand the questions...

In the National High School Excellence Exam for the 2024-2025 school year, Quyen won the second prize. To achieve that result, in addition to scientific learning methods, Quyen also learned test-taking skills, how to stabilize his psychology at important milestones; learned how to present his work clearly and beautifully; and timed his test-taking...
