The king cobra is widely distributed throughout Southeast Asia and is known for its aggressive nature but is harmless to humans. When threatened, it will erect its body, open its mouth wide and inflate its neck in defense, leading to many confusion with cobras.

Although not venomous, this snake is still ready to attack and can cause bleeding wounds if bitten. However, with the characteristic of effectively hunting rats, the king cobra plays an important role in the balance of agricultural ecology in Vietnam.

If people encounter king cobras, they should simply chase them away instead of killing them, as they are of great benefit in controlling rat populations.
