Amazon - Vietnam will be the high-quality export center of Southeast Asia

Amazon will turn Vietnam into the e-commerce export hub of Southeast Asia, through technology and innovative solutions, high-quality exports.

Amazon Global Selling recently held its annual conference with the theme “Technology Breakthrough - Global Export Breakthrough”. The event gathered more than 1,500 entrepreneurs and businesses, honoring the global success of Vietnamese businesses on Amazon; launching powerful new tools and programs, and announcing strategic focuses for 2026 to promote global exports for Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Jim Yang, Director of Market Development Asia - Pacific , Amazon Global Selling, shared: “Amazon's more than 20 international markets offer diverse opportunities for manufacturers, brand owners and selling partners around the world. The Asia - Pacific region plays an important role in the global supply chain. Amazon's continuous efforts in developing logistics infrastructure, promoting innovation and supporting the development of industry ecosystems are designed to help businesses connect their manufacturing strengths with global customers. Vietnam's entrepreneurial spirit and manufacturing capacity provide great opportunities for export growth through e-commerce”.

According to data from Amazon, the number of products sold by Vietnamese sellers increased by nearly 35% over the same period last year as of July 31. This growth shows the growing role of global B2C e-commerce as an emerging export channel for Vietnam.

Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) has become an important tool for Vietnamese businesses to improve logistics efficiency. The number of goods shipped via FBA increased by nearly 40% in 2025, reflecting the focus of Vietnamese sellers on ensuring reliable delivery and customer service globally.

The top 5 best-selling product categories of Vietnamese sellers on Amazon include: home, kitchen, health and personal care, fashion and beauty, which will remain stable in 2025, reflecting Vietnam’s inherent manufacturing strengths. Typical examples include the success stories of Coolmate in the garment industry and Green Mekong with interior products.

Amazon Global Selling Vietnam’s 2026 strategic focus will be accelerating Vietnam’s transformation into a Southeast Asian e-commerce export hub. Accordingly, it will accelerate Vietnam’s transformation into a regional export hub and enhance global competitiveness through efforts to develop logistics, nurture industry talent, and promote regional knowledge exchange through collaboration with the Government and industry associations.

Amazon will also promote AI transformation for Vietnam's export industry through introducing AI tools, providing guidance on AI application methods, and developing AI talent.

Amazon will support Vietnamese manufacturers and brands to move up the global value chain, through product innovation and branding, working with the Government and stakeholders to implement high-quality export initiatives, and nurturing a new generation of entrepreneurs, thereby helping “Made in Vietnam” to be marked by innovative, high-quality and globally competitive products.

Amazon will also promote AI transformation for Vietnam's export industry through introducing AI tools, providing guidance on AI application methods and developing AI talent, aiming to make Vietnam one of the leading countries in the region in applying technology in trade and smart manufacturing.

At the event, Amazon also launched the Amazon Global Logistics (AGL) cross-border shipping program, making Vietnam the second country in the world to be selected as AGL's FBA starting point, allowing local businesses to access comprehensive logistics solutions, directly connecting to Amazon's network of fulfillment centers in the US.

The launch of this program allows local businesses to focus on their manufacturing strengths to expand their international business and let Amazon manage the entire cross-border logistics process, from picking to delivery at fulfillment centers.
