Launching consulting service contract for management and operation of Long Thanh Airport

Long Thanh Airport is aiming to become one of the region's aviation transit hubs, with a scale and capacity after completing all 3 phases of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.

The consulting unit is responsible for supporting ACV in preparing and successfully putting Long Thanh International Airport into operation, ensuring safety, efficiency and progress.

On October 10, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) launched the implementation of the Bidding Package "Providing consulting services for management and operation of Long Thanh International Airport".

This is an important step to contribute to ensuring the goal of preparing and being ready to transfer operations to Long Thanh International Airport to operate smoothly and safely from the first day of opening, building and enhancing the competitiveness of Long Thanh International Airport when it is put into operation.

Incheon Airport Consortium has 3 main tasks in this Bidding Package: developing the concept of operations (ConOps) and supporting the implementation of sub-processes; consulting on the development of commercial policies and financial strategies; consulting on the implementation of ConOps trials and transfer of operations.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung - Deputy General Director of ACV, the kick-off conference for the implementation of the bidding package today marks the first step of a cooperation implementation process with the Consultant to strive to carry out the preparation work and put Long Thanh International Airport into operation successfully, ensuring safety, efficiency and on schedule.

“With a high spirit of determination, ACV will strive to complete the above-mentioned tasks, contributing to concretizing the vision of “becoming an international transit airport, competitive and on par with major centers in the ASEAN region and Asia”, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung emphasized.

The Long Thanh International Airport construction investment project is one of the important national projects of the transport sector.

Long Thanh International Airport is planned to reach level 4F according to the classification of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO); is an important international airport of the country, aiming to become one of the regional aviation transit centers, with a scale and capacity after completing all 3 phases of 100 million passengers/year and 5 million tons of cargo/year.

In the immediate future, phase 1 of the Project will invest in building 1 runway, a passenger terminal with a capacity of 25 million passengers/year, a cargo terminal with a capacity of 1.2 million tons of cargo/year, and synchronous auxiliary items.
