7 quarries in Dong Nai have applied special mechanisms in mineral exploitation.

(DN) - Information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment said: As of mid-November 2025, the unit has advised the Provincial People's Committee to review and approve 7 quarries including: Tan Cang 2, Tan Cang 7, Tan Cang 9, Ap Mieu, Nui Nua, Thien Tan 4 and Thien Tan 5 to apply special mechanisms in mineral exploitation according to Resolution 168/NQ-CP and Resolution 02/2025/NQ-CP, both issued on June 11, 2025 by the Government.

The notable point in the above two resolutions is that it allows a maximum increase of 50% in mining capacity compared to the granted license for mines that are still valid, in accordance with land use planning and participating in supplying materials for national projects and key transport projects. This mechanism helps mines proactively increase production capacity, increase material supply, reduce the risk of shortage and limit the impact on the construction progress of key projects.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, when applying the special mechanism, the mines will have their administrative procedures shortened and legal problems quickly resolved. This is especially important in the context that the province is in need of large material resources to serve key projects such as: Long Thanh International Airport, Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway, Ring Road 3 - Ho Chi Minh City, connecting traffic routes and many belt roads and expressways that are being or will be started.

Currently, the province has 23/33 quarries capable of supplying materials for key projects. In addition to the 7 mines that have been upgraded in capacity under a special mechanism, the Tan Cang 1 mine has been approved by the Provincial People's Committee to apply Resolution No. 66.4/2025/NQ-CP dated September 21, 2025 of the Government on promulgating special mechanisms and policies to remove difficulties in implementing the Law on Geology and Minerals in 2024. At the same time, 2 other mines, Thien Tan 7 and Thien Tan 9, are being reviewed to propose applying special mechanisms.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment will continue to review and encourage eligible enterprises to register to apply special mechanisms according to Government resolutions, in order to expand mining capacity, timely supplement materials and ensure the progress of key national, regional and provincial projects.
