Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen spoke at the meeting.
At the working session, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen provided general information about the potential and strengths of Ca Mau province in developing clean energy.
With terrain bordering the sea on three sides, a 310km long coastline, stable wind speed, high sunshine hours (2,200 - 2,700 hours/year) and strong radiation, Ca Mau has ideal conditions for developing wind and solar power.
Through research, the province's wind power technical potential can reach over 19,500 MW; the aquaculture area of over 400,000 hectares can be combined with solar power development with an estimated scale of over 11,500 MW.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen said that the province is currently operating 16 wind power plants with a total capacity of 870.2 MW, along with 2,827 rooftop solar power systems with 295.494 MWp. In the adjustment of the eighth power plan, Ca Mau has been supplemented with many important power sources such as: 3,200 MW of LNG power, 2,309 MW of wind power, 117 MW of self-produced and self-consumed rooftop solar power, 100 MW of concentrated solar power and biomass and waste-to-energy projects.
In particular, a project to export electricity from renewable energy with a capacity of 12,000 - 15,000 MW has been included in the planning list, with the option of connecting by underground cable to Malaysia and overhead line to Singapore.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen provided more information about the major projects the province is calling for investment in: 22 wind power projects with a total capacity of 1,309 MW, 02 concentrated solar power projects with a total capacity of 100 MW; at the same time, building an orientation to form a multi-purpose energy center associated with logistics development and Hon Khoai deep-water port.

Mr. Nguyen Anh Khoa, representative of VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company, spoke at the meeting.
In the cooperation exchange, Ca Mau province proposed VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company to research and develop projects: Solar power, wind power and other forms of renewable energy for electricity export, along with underground cable infrastructure, transmission lines and AC/DC conversion systems; develop renewable energy to directly supply the production of green hydrogen, green ammonia, data centers, electronic component factories; invest in infrastructure for storage, transportation and export of hydrogen, ammonia, taking advantage of Hon Khoai port and Nam Can Economic Zone; survey and develop offshore wind power, aiming to form a green hydrogen industrial cluster in Ca Mau in the future.
Mr. Nguyen Anh Khoa, representative of VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company, thanked the province for its attention and highly appreciated the wind power potential, especially offshore wind power of Ca Mau; at the same time, proposed the Provincial People's Committee to introduce potential wind power areas and projects; support procedures and licenses for investors to survey and research locations to develop power source projects for export and supply to the national grid; consider converting and merging small-scale wind power projects into larger projects to optimize resources and assets.

Working scene.
VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company affirmed that if supported by the province, the enterprise will be determined to invest and accompany Ca Mau in developing renewable energy clusters, contributing to making the province become the energy center of the region.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen supported the proposals of VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company and assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to be the focal point to connect and coordinate the implementation of projects in the coming time; at the same time, requested relevant departments and branches to support enterprises in surveying, researching, and establishing investment procedures, ensuring compliance with legal regulations and the province's energy development planning.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Chi Nguyen hopes that VinEnergo Energy Joint Stock Company will continue to accompany Ca Mau in developing renewable energy projects, especially projects for exporting electricity, offshore wind power, solar power and other green energy sources, contributing to the formation of a diverse and sustainable renewable energy cluster, enhancing the position of Ca Mau to make the province an energy center of the region.
