The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said a strong cold air mass in the North is moving south. It is forecast that around November 17, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast and North Central regions, then affect the Northwest and North Central regions.

According to the forecast, around November 17-18, the Northern region will have scattered rain; from the night of November 17, the Northern region (including Hanoi ) and the North Central region will turn cold, with some places in the high mountainous areas of the North experiencing severe cold. The lowest temperature in this cold air mass is generally 12-15 degrees Celsius, and in the high mountainous areas below 10 degrees Celsius.

The hydrometeorological agency said that on November 15, the area from Ha Tinh to Da Nang will have showers and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, locally over 50mm.

It is forecasted that on the night of November 15-16, the area from South Quang Tri to Da Nang, the eastern part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will have heavy to very heavy rain with common rainfall of 60-120mm, locally over 200mm.

The area from Ha Tinh to Northern Quang Tri has moderate to heavy rain with rainfall of 40-70mm, locally over 150mm. The western part of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak has rain, moderate rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, locally over 100mm.

According to forecasts, from the night of November 16 to the end of the night of November 18, the Hue and Da Nang areas, the eastern part of Quang Ngai and Gia Lai provinces will have heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall of 250-500mm, locally over 600mm.

The area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, the east of Dak Lak, Khanh Hoa has heavy rain of 100-300mm, locally over 400mm. The west of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak has heavy rain of 50-100mm, locally over 150mm.

The hydrometeorological agency said the total rainfall for the entire period (November 15-18) in Hue, Da Nang, eastern Quang Ngai and Gia Lai will be generally 300-600mm, locally over 800mm.

In the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Tri, the east of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa, the total rainfall for the whole period is 150-350mm, locally over 500mm. In the west of Quang Ngai to Dak Lak, the total rainfall is 70-150mm.

It is forecasted that from November 19, widespread heavy rain will continue to occur in Da Nang and provinces from Quang Ngai to Khanh Hoa.

The Southern region on November 16-18 will have moderate rain and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain of 50-100mm, in some places over 150mm.
