Immediately, medical staff at Thong Nhat Stadium entered the field to provide first aid to Nur Ain Salleh, before the Lion City Sailors player was put in an ambulance and taken straight to the hospital.

After the match, Lion City Sailors coach Yeong Sheau Shyan shared information with the media: “Nur Ain Salleh’s stroke on the field was an unfortunate situation. She is studying abroad in Spain.”

“Before the 2025-2026 season, Nur Ain Salleh met the physical and medical requirements to play for us. I have never been worried about her physical condition. Nur Ain Salleh is one of the most talented players in Singapore women's football at the moment,” Ms. Yeong Sheau Shyan added.

According to the information we have, until the night of November 16, Nur Ain Salleh still could not be discharged from the hospital. However, the Singaporean female player is no longer in critical condition.

Coach Yeong Sheau Shyan confirmed this: “I was informed that Nur Ain Salleh has regained consciousness. However, she is still temporarily in the hospital.”

“Nur Ain Salleh leaving the field due to a stroke in the 76th minute caused many other Lion City Sailors players to lose concentration. Before that, we held out very well against the very strong Ho Chi Minh City Women’s Football Club. We conceded two goals at the end of the match because of our lack of concentration and our poor physical condition,” coach Yeong Sheau Shyan continued.

Group A of the 2025-2026 AFC Champions League group stage has one more match, taking place on the afternoon and evening of November 19. Lion City Sailors will meet Stallion Laguna (Philippines), while Ho Chi Minh City Women's Football Club will face Melbourne City Club (Australia).

Among these, two teams, Ho Chi Minh City and Melbourne City, have secured tickets to the quarterfinals, while Lion City Sailors and Stallion Laguna will try to compete for the play-off tickets.
