CP Vietnam planted 5 new hectares of mangrove forest

(DN) - CP Vietnam Livestock Joint Stock Company (CP Vietnam) in Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park (Dong Nai province) has coordinated with the Forest Management Board under the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Vinh Long province to launch the planting of 5 hectares of new mangrove forest in Thoi Thuan commune, Vinh Long province.

The event was attended by representatives of the Forest Management Board and local agencies, along with more than 50 CP Vietnam volunteers from branches in the region.

The ceremony is an important milestone in expanding the project “CP Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam”, launching the planting of 5 hectares of new mangrove forests in Vinh Long , with a roadmap for care and development into forests in the period 2025-2029.

The project aims to restore and develop coastal ecosystems, creating a natural “green shield” to prevent erosion, protect dykes, infrastructure and livelihoods of coastal residents, while creating a habitat for aquatic species and contributing to climate change response.

At the ceremony, delegates and volunteers planted white mangrove trees together, starting a new phase in the journey of greening Vietnam. Not just a simple tree planting activity, the program also spreads the spirit of community responsibility and environmental protection awareness to each individual participating.

From 2021 to present, CP Vietnam has coordinated with Vinh Long province to plant, protect and regenerate 55 hectares of protective forests and more than 31,200 scattered trees. 2025 is the year marking the milestone of completing the goal of 1 million trees in the community in 6 provinces within the framework of the project "CP Vietnam - Journey for a Green Vietnam". That success is the result of the joint efforts of businesses, the government and the people, all aiming for a green, sustainable and prosperous Vietnam.

In Dong Nai, CP Vietnam also cooperated with Long Thanh Protective Forest Management Board to plant and care for 10 hectares of mangrove forest. Through the forest planting program, CP Vietnam hopes to contribute to environmental protection, restore the mangrove ecosystem, and move towards a future where humans and nature develop together in harmony.
