Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department propagates to improve forest protection efficiency

In order to help people realize the effectiveness of forest protection and development (FP&D), forest fire prevention and fighting, Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department has directed local forest rangers to closely follow the guidance of superiors, especially the guidance documents of communes in the area and the Provincial Forest Protection Department related to FP&D, to propagate and disseminate to each village and hamlet. The goal of propaganda is to help people understand the effects and multi-purpose values of forests, as well as the State's investment policies for FP&D. Many good, intuitive and vivid ways of doing things have brought about clear results, encouraging people to actively plant and preserve forests effectively. Communes in the area have strengthened their responsibility to manage the State on forests and forestry land; implemented many solutions for forest protection (FP) and forest product management.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Huy, Head of Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department, said: Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department has synchronously implemented solutions for forest protection and development, in which attracting a large number of people to proactively protect forests is the core solution. Through propaganda work, forest rangers and functional agencies have conveyed the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on forest protection and development to a large number of people. Timely handle and resolve situations and violations arising in the field of management, forest protection and development. From there, help people realize the especially important role of forests in socio -economic development, ecological environment protection; proactively participate in sustainable forest protection and development. The number of violations in the forestry sector has decreased sharply compared to the same period, forest security in the area has been maintained and increasingly stable.

In the coming time, Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department will continue to coordinate with local political organizations to promote propaganda, education, dissemination of laws, and mobilize people and forest owners to implement regulations on forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting in many diverse and rich forms, especially in key villages and communes with forest fires. Apply information technology associated with digital transformation in management and dissemination of the Forestry Law and other legal documents to the people. Implement well the training and fostering of cadres, promote the application of technology in forest protection management, especially for local cadres and forest rangers.

Typically, at Yen Thang Forest Ranger Station (under Lang Chanh Forest Ranger Division), there are 4 officers and forest rangers assigned to manage and protect 16,207.75 hectares of forest in Yen Khuong and Yen Thang communes, which are border communes bordering Laos. There are many ethnic minorities living here, a high rate of poor households, people's income mainly depends on the forest and the agricultural cultivation practices on sloping land of the indigenous people are the fundamental causes of threats to forest security. The station has proactively coordinated with Yen Khuong Border Guard Station and relevant agencies and units to propagate the Forestry Law to the public; patrol the forest protection; guide people to plant, care for, protect the forest and develop the forest farm economy, create more jobs, increase income...

Since the beginning of the year, Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department has coordinated to propagate forest protection and development on loudspeakers in villages and hamlets 209 times; through 42 village and commune meetings with 2,255 participants; coordinated with Lang Chanh Protective Forest Management Board to organize 1 conference to propagate forest protection, forest fire prevention and fighting for contracted households and forest protection teams with 100 participants.

Along with propaganda, Lang Chanh Forest Protection Department has increased inspection, prevention and strict handling of illegal exploitation, transportation, trading and processing of forest products. Over the past 10 months of 2025, the unit has organized 370 forest security inspections with 1,405 participants, detected, arrested and handled 13 cases of violations of the Forestry Law, confiscated 7,896m3 of various types of wood, and paid more than 125 million VND to the State budget.

People's awareness of BVR and forestry economic development, income from forestry production has been raised. People proactively change seedlings and methods to improve efficiency and economic value in forestry production. Forestry economy in the area is increasingly developing, gradually becoming a key economic sector in the locality. Forest security is stable in a sustainable direction, violations of the Forestry Law are promptly inspected, detected and handled.

Manage and use forest resources reasonably and sustainably in the area to meet the needs of economic development and promote the function of environmental protection, natural disaster prevention, and climate change response. Communes in the area have been attracting businesses to invest in processing forest products, contributing to improving the efficiency of forestry economy. Develop forestry associated with the development of ecotourism and community tourism, creating sustainable livelihoods for people.
