Comfortable, intimate, cheerful and full of laughter. That was the atmosphere of a school psychology counseling session at Dang Thai Mai High School, Quang Binh Commune, Thanh Hoa Province. In a small room filled with meaningful proverbs, funny and cute images, the teacher changed his role, no longer standing on the podium, but becoming a confidant of the students. Although sometimes shy when "touched" on sensitive issues, the two students were still willing to share with the teacher...

Teacher Vu Dinh Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Dang Thai Mai High School happily said: “The school has established a School Psychology Committee for several years now. When entering the counseling room, most of the students feel very comfortable. There are many things that they find difficult to share with their parents, but they are willing to share with their teachers. We always try to create a closeness and a sense of security for the students, so that whenever they encounter problems, they are willing to come to the teachers, instead of struggling to find a solution on their own...”

In recent years, hundreds of school psychology counseling rooms have been opened in schools in Thanh Hoa province, especially in high schools. Each psychology room is a miniature world where students can share their thoughts, feelings and even the frustrations of puberty... From such rooms, many useful advices from teachers have been given, many student conflicts have been resolved, contributing to preventing the outbreak of school violence.

Speaking at the National Assembly when questioned about the problem of school violence, Mr. Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Education and Training, said: "If one day there is no more violence in schools, I can say that it will be the day adults stop fighting. And then, children will only look at each other with eyes of pure love... Teaching morality and character to determine students' attitudes and behavior is a very important part of the family and the example of adults." Delegate Truong Trong Nghia, National Assembly Delegation of Ho Chi Minh City also emphasized: "When we talk about violence, we are talking about the impotence of goodness. But goodness, love, and kindness depend a lot on family and society."

School violence is a particularly complex and serious problem, with unpredictable developments... To solve this problem, there must be a close combination between school, family and society, with a combination of many solutions, and it is absolutely not a one-day or two-day matter. Among the solutions to prevent school violence, sowing the seeds of love and spreading the spirit of goodness is perhaps the most fundamental and sustainable solution. Because, when living in an environment full of love, imbued with sympathy and sharing, the tendency to violence among students will more or less be reduced.

When he first entered Thanh Phong Prison, Huu (character's name has been changed - PV) felt self-conscious and inferior. Every night, when he closed his eyes, the young prisoner always saw the tragedy of the day he injured his friend. But after more than 2 years of reform, Huu always received attention, sharing and encouragement from the prison guards. That sincere affection helped Huu gradually forget his inferiority complex, try to reform well so that he can soon return to reintegrate into the community, correct his mistakes and become a useful person.

“I can’t forget the past, I have to remember it to learn a lesson. But I will try to live positively to apologize to the friend I hurt, to apologize to my parents and to have a better life for myself” - Huu sadly shared.

In addition to the “loving solution”, strictly preventing the seeds of school violence from the beginning is also a way to maintain peace in schools. Recently, Thanh Hoa Provincial Police have mobilized thousands of officers and soldiers to coordinate with junior high schools, high schools, and Continuing Education - Vocational Education Centers in the province, regularly checking students' compliance with the law when going to school, confiscating thousands of weapons and sharp materials; thereby proactively preventing, detecting, stopping and handling in a timely manner, not allowing students to violate the law and social evils, school violence, and at the same time preventing outside criminals from entering schools.

“We regularly instruct students on communication skills with each other and with society. In addition, we coordinate with the former Nong Cong district police and the current Trung Chinh commune police to organize inspections and monitor students bringing weapons to school, ensuring that students do not bring weapons to school,” said Mr. Dang Van Hung, Principal of Nong Cong 2 High School, Thanh Hoa province.

In recent years, the education and training sector of Thanh Hoa province has also organized many propaganda activities to raise students' awareness in preventing school violence. Tho Son Secondary School, Tho Binh Commune, Thanh Hoa Province is where a school violence case occurred a few years ago, leaving one student injured and another student criminally prosecuted. Since the incident, the school has increased the organization of practical flag-raising activities, propaganda, and dissemination of knowledge to help students better understand the harmful effects of school violence, and to equip them with the skills to handle situations when faced with potential risks.

“Hello everyone! This is the youth radio program of the Quang Dong Secondary School Union. In today's program, Khanh Ly would like to send you content on preventing school violence.”... The loudspeaker sounds clearly, transmitted to each classroom of Quang Dong Secondary School, Quang Phu Ward, Thanh Hoa Province. Not only at Quang Dong Secondary School, but throughout Thanh Hoa Province, hundreds of youth radio programs are regularly broadcast every week, carrying meaningful messages, conveying to students useful knowledge and skills in preventing and combating school violence.

Schools also regularly incorporate school violence prevention content into their lessons, creating closeness and trust so that students can comfortably share their problems, thoughts, feelings, and aspirations...; from there, student-age problems are resolved, and the specter of school violence is gradually pushed back.

The pain of school violence, though haunting, will pass... With love and tolerance, peace will return to schools...

After enduring mental and physical trauma. After a year of having to put his results on hold, Gia An (character's name has been changed - PV) has now returned to school, continuing his 11th grade program. The love of his family, teachers and friends has helped him to be more steadfast in the journey ahead. The school violence incident that Gia An was a victim of has not yet completely ended, but he shared that he has forgiven the mistakes of his friends who attacked him.

In the campus of Dang Thai Mai High School, Le's (the deceased victim) classroom was separated from Pham's (the criminal who caused Le's death) classroom by a small yard. In that yard, there was a mahogany tree that had all its branches and leaves cut off. But on its moldy and bare bark, a few buds had sprouted, fresh, warm, quietly stretching out in the cold rain of early winter....
