Recognized as a national historical site in 1995, Hang Mo So relic site (Kien Luong commune, An Giang province) is a majestic limestone mountain range, possessing many interesting caves and rugged terrain.
This place not only marks the heroic resistance period of Kien Luong army and people, but is also an attractive destination for tourists who love nature and history.

“Mo So” in Khmer means “white rock”. The mountain range stands out among the low-lying plains with its wild mountain and forest landscape and mysterious cave system. It is both a natural beauty and a witness to two great resistance wars.
According to information from the Kien Luong Cultural and Sports Center, during the resistance war against the French, Mo So was the base of Engineering Workshop 18 (Military Region 9) and Cambodian volunteer troops. Here, the revolutionary forces manufactured and improved weapons captured from the enemy, supplying the Southwest battlefield.

During the war against the US, Mo So continued to be an important strategic base, playing a key role on Route 1C - the route for transporting weapons and ammunition from North to South.
Although the US-puppet army repeatedly launched sweeps with the intention of wiping out this base, thanks to the rugged terrain and the ingenuity and bravery of our army and people, Mo So still steadfastly held its ground, making an important contribution to the victory of the local revolution.

Geologically, Mo So is shaped like a scarf, with a valley of less than 1,000 square meters in the middle covered with green trees. Researchers believe that the cave system here was formed millions of years ago, when the area was still deep below sea level. Traces of erosion from ancient seawater have created a series of caves, holes, and strange cliffs with many unique shapes.
The whole mountain currently has more than 20 large and small caves connected together. Some caves are just wide enough for one person to pass through, while others are as large as a large house and can accommodate hundreds of people.
Inside the mountain there are also winding underground streams, diverse stalactites and stalagmites shimmering under the flickering light from the "sky wells" - creating a masterpiece "stone path" bestowed by nature.

On the journey to explore Mo So, visitors cannot miss the Quan Y - Co Yeu - Kinh Tai cave cluster, the largest and most unique cave cluster, located on the west side of the mountain.
The cave is more than 20m deep, gradually widening towards the inside, with a cool stream flowing all year round. During the rainy season, the water rises and becomes crystal clear, with schools of small fish swimming around, guiding visitors.
Under the dim light shining down from the crevices of the rocks, the shimmering stalactites create a magical scene, making people feel like they are lost in a fairy tale world.

During the resistance war against America, Quan Y cave was a field hospital for our forces, a place to treat wounded soldiers.
The temperature in the cave is always moderate - cool in the sunny season, warm in the cold season. The deeper you go, the more fascinated you are by the flying saucer-shaped rocks, cat-ear rocks, stone toad statues, or the veins on the walls that look like ancient Chinese characters.

Mo So Cave is not only a red address for revolutionary tradition education but also a famous historical-ecological tourist destination of An Giang. Every year, this place welcomes thousands of visitors to explore the majestic cave system, learn about the heroic history and enjoy the fresh air in the mountains and forests.
Many local youth union members and youths regularly organize "returning to the source" activities here, remembering the contributions of previous generations, fostering patriotism and national pride.
