Vinh Thanh Industrial Park - VSIP Can Tho has an area of 900 hectares, aiming to become a large food processing and distribution center in the Southern region.
On September 9, VSIP Group coordinated with the People's Committee of Can Tho City to organize the launching ceremony of the Vinh Thanh Industrial Park - VSIP Can Tho project in Vinh Trinh commune, Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city. This is the 13th Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park in the country and the first project in the Mekong Delta. The project has a total planning area of 900 hectares; of which, phase 1 has an area of 293.7 hectares, with an investment capital of nearly VND 3,718 billion.
VSIP Can Tho aims to become a major food processing and distribution center in the southern region. In addition, it will establish a "center-to-port" logistics network and supporting infrastructure to best serve investors ' supply chain needs. The project is expected to attract 3.5 billion USD and create jobs for 100,000 workers upon completion.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that the city is receiving investment from the Central Government and has many factors to promote the development of the project, such as: airport, waterway network, large port, inner-city traffic and expressways connecting neighboring areas. The project is also assessed to have great potential as Vinh Thanh District is the intersection of vertical and horizontal expressways in the Mekong Delta and borders the three provinces of Dong Thap, An Giang and Hau Giang.

However, to achieve the goal, the Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment said that Can Tho still has a lot of work to do. The urgent issue is to create transparency, quickly resolve administrative procedures, and the difficulties of investors and businesses. Another thing to pay attention to is to effectively implement the housing development strategy for workers and laborers, ensuring social security.
For investors, one of the key tasks is to attract secondary investors , develop industrial parks with a priority orientation towards processing, manufacturing, applying 4.0 technology, green industry and renewable industry. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Planning and Investment commits to coordinate with ministries, branches and the People's Committee of Can Tho City to create favorable conditions for investors' investment and business activities to be implemented successfully and effectively.
