Previously, after a period of investigation, on December 15, 2024, the Economic Police Department issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute the accused for the crime of "Forging seals and documents of agencies and organizations; Using fake seals and documents of agencies and organizations" according to the provisions of Article 341 of the Penal Code against 7 accused of the Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances under the Department of Science and Technology of Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city) and a related unit in Ho Chi Minh City.

During the process of expanding the case, the investigation agency has struggled to clarify the group of subjects who were former Deputy Directors and employees of Hai Au Environmental Consulting Services Joint Stock Company who colluded with a group of subjects at the Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances to issue more than 100 fake sample analysis results for environmental monitoring. Then, they were included in the 2021 environmental protection work reports of more than 30 business locations in Thua Thien Hue province (now Hue city).

On May 14, the Economic Police Department of Hue City Police served the prosecution documents and organized a search of the location of Hai Au Environmental Consulting Services Joint Stock Company (address at 3 Tan Thoi Nhat 20, Tan Thoi Nhat Ward, District 12, Ho Chi Minh City) to collect documents and evidence to serve the investigation and settlement of the case.

Currently, the Economic Police Department of Hue City Police is continuing to expand the investigation to clarify and handle related organizations and individuals in accordance with legal regulations.
