BTO - On the morning of July 30th, the first Bình Thuận - Ninh Thuận Open Amateur Cycling Race 2023 officially opened at the Bình Thuận Provincial Training, Coaching and Competition Center, despite unfavorable weather conditions.
The opening ceremony was attended by leaders from the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces, along with nearly 200 amateur cyclists from 12 units in Binh Thuan province and 8 units from outside the province: Ba Ria - Vung Tau, Ninh Thuan, Dong Thap, Dong Nai and Phu Yen...
The cycling race is one of the inter-provincial activities coordinated between the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan and Ninh Thuan provinces in response to the National Tourism Year 2023.
The competition will feature three events: Men's age group (51 years and older) competing over a distance of 35km; Men's age groups (18-35 years old) and (36-50 years old) competing together over a distance of 48km .
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Huynh Ngoc Tam, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Thuan province, said: The cycling race not only responds to the National Tourism Year but also celebrates the 78th anniversary of the successful August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2023) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2023). At the same time, it promotes the "National Movement for Physical Training Following the Example of the Great President Ho Chi Minh".
The Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism requested that, given the difficult weather conditions , the athletes strive to compete to the best of their abilities; and that the referees, in particular, conduct their duties seriously, objectively, impartially, honestly, and accurately, creating the best possible conditions for the athletes to compete safely. The athletes should aim to achieve the best results for themselves and their teams.
