To ensure the circulation of goods and stabilize the market during the Lunar New Year 2025, the Department of Industry and Trade synchronously deploys solutions and policies to encourage consumption, avoiding shortages and supply disruptions that cause sudden price increases.
Accordingly, very early on, the Department of Industry and Trade has developed plans and documents requesting localities and essential goods businesses to coordinate and monitor the supply and demand developments and market prices in the locality before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2025. In particular, it requires establishments operating in the field of Industry and Trade in the province to strictly comply with the State's regulations on production and trading of goods; proactively develop plans to ensure the supply of essential goods; encourage establishments to proactively print and hang banners "Vietnamese Point of Sale/Tet Point of Sale 2025" and have plans to open earlier and close later than the current time from 60-90 minutes every day to serve the shopping needs of people and tourists from December 30, 2024 to January 28, 2025. Along with that, coordinate with agencies and functional units in the province to strengthen market inspection and control, prevent smuggling and trade fraud in the last months of the year.
Regarding petroleum business activities, the Department also requires units, enterprises, and petroleum stores in the province to ensure a stable supply of petroleum to serve the production and consumption of people and businesses before, during, and after the 2025 Lunar New Year, without interruption of supply. At the same time, coordinate with relevant agencies to strengthen supervision and inspection of maintaining sales and implementing legal regulations on petroleum business; control the quality, measurement, and selling price of petroleum circulating on the market. Strictly implement regulations on sales time at petroleum retail points and ensure fire prevention and fighting.
Up to now, businesses and production facilities in the province have also brought their products to the market to serve the consumer demand at the end of the year. Many OCOP products of the province with good quality and beautiful designs, which are favored by people during Tet, have been displayed at stalls, meeting the purchasing power of people such as: Sa Sung fish sauce of Newstar One Member Co., Ltd.; Ba Che golden flower tea products of Dap Thanh Forestry Trading Joint Stock Company; oyster floss, shrimp floss, fish floss, shrimp floss products of Quang Ninh Seafood Production and Trading Company Limited; Binh Lieu dong vermicelli of Binh Lieu Trading and Service Company...
Along with businesses, cooperatives, and production facilities, at this time, shopping centers, supermarkets, and retail stores in the province are also ready with supplies, ensuring quality, origin, and listed prices. Ms. Pham Lu, Director of GO! Ha Long Supermarket, said: To stabilize prices and promote year-end consumption, the unit has promoted the import of goods and reduced prices for many products, from vegetables, fresh daily foods, processed foods to cakes, breads of all kinds, foods and necessities... All are at preferential prices and ensure food safety. In addition, the supermarket is also offering a "Buy more, get cheaper" policy to customers; encouraging customers to order large quantities of essential, fresh foods; applying shocking promotions, deep discounts of up to 50% on many items throughout the Tet holiday.
In particular, to create more choices for consumers to shop for goods at the end of the year, many trade promotion programs on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 will also be implemented in the province such as: "Quang Ninh OCOP Fair - Spring 2025", held from January 17-22, 2025, at the Provincial Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace with a scale of 200 booths to introduce and sell Quang Ninh OCOP products, specialty agricultural products, OCOP products of provinces/cities; Ha Long City organizes the Ha Long Spring Flower Fair at 30/10 Square, Hong Hai Ward; Mong Cai City organizes the 2025 Border Spring Fair, located at the Cultural and Information Center; Dong Trieu City organizes the Flower - Ornamental Plants Fair combining trade and Dong Trieu OCOP products 2025, located at the Ha Lan Urban Area, Mao Khe Ward...
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, goods in the province are extremely rich and diverse. Solutions to promote consumer demand, proactiveness from businesses, cooperatives, production facilities and the readiness of supermarkets, trade centers, and retail stores in the province have contributed to ensuring goods, stabilizing the market and creating many options for people and tourists when shopping during the Lunar New Year 2025.
