In an interview with Van Hoa, Head of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the 32nd SEA Games Dang Ha Viet said that according to the announcement from the host country, the list of free members of the Delegations depends on the regulations on the number of Delegation officials sent to serve the athletes, according to the criteria of 2 athletes will be accompanied by 1 Delegation official. The football team will be free for 28 members.
For cases that are beyond the prescribed number, the delegations attending the Games will contact the hotels in the service system of the Games, with an estimated cost of about 100 USD/person/day. At the Conference, Cambodia announced that the organizing committee will base on the list reviewed in the first meeting to determine the number of members of the Vietnamese Sports Delegation and other delegations will not have to pay the cost.
Cambodia's free entry for most of its members to the Games is a remarkable effort and unprecedented at the SEA Games.
Huy Hoang will be the flag bearer for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the Opening Ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games.
Another noteworthy information at this meeting is that the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will be arranged with about 200 volunteers to support them throughout the competition period at the Games. Volunteers play an important role in the organization of major sports events. Therefore, with the support of these volunteers, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will feel secure when competing and living in the host country.
Regarding accommodation arrangements, the Athletes’ Village with a capacity of about 3,700 rooms is not enough to accommodate all the delegations. Therefore, some teams will stay at hotels arranged by the Organizing Committee of the Games.
Previously, the host country also announced that the flag-raising ceremony of the participating countries has changed its time from May 4 to May 3 at the Athletes' Village. To adapt to this change, the Vietnamese Sports Delegation will send 1 leader and some officials of the Delegation along with athletes already in Cambodia to participate in the flag-raising ceremony.
According to the regulations of the host country's organizing committee, Vietnam and other delegations were sent 33 members to attend the flag-raising ceremony. At the opening ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games, held on the evening of May 5 at Morodok Techo Stadium, each delegation was sent 52 members to participate in the parade. At this year's SEA Games, swimmer Nguyen Huy Hoang was the flag bearer for the Vietnamese Sports Delegation at the opening ceremony of the Games.
