This information was mentioned by State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan when reporting to the National Assembly on the work of the State Audit for the 2021-2026 term on the afternoon of October 20.
According to Mr. Tuan, during the past term, the State Audit has stepped up and resolutely audited the State budget settlement reports at all levels to serve the National Assembly and People's Councils of provinces and cities in approving the State budget settlement.
Regarding the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, the State Auditor General has issued and resolutely implemented Directive No. 1346 on strengthening discipline, order, and public ethics; resolutely fighting against corruption and negativity in the performance of public duties.

Mr. Ngo Van Tuan said that during his term, the State Audit provided 1,749 audit reports and related documents to agencies of the National Assembly, the Central Inspection Committee , investigation agencies and other competent State agencies to serve the investigation, inspection and supervision work...
Notably, the State Audit has transferred 17 files to the Police Investigation Agency to investigate and clarify cases with signs of law violations through auditing activities.
The audit also proposed that the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity put a number of projects with signs of waste discovered through the audit under monitoring. This agency also audited two cases with signs of corruption under the direction of the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Wastefulness and Negativity.
In the full report No. 1363/BC-KTNN sent to the National Assembly, the State Auditor General said that as of September 30, the State Audit had recommended handling of finances of VND254,676 billion and more than USD125 million. Of which, it recommended increasing State budget revenue by VND24,019 billion and reducing State budget expenditure by VND92,365 billion and more than USD108.8 million.
The State Audit also recommended the cancellation, amendment, supplementation and new issuance of contents that are contrary to or inconsistent with the general regulations of the State and practices for 938 legal documents and management documents at all levels (including 13 laws, 36 decrees, 88 circulars, 16 decisions of the Prime Minister and 785 other documents), an increase of 19.3% compared to the 2016-2021 term.
In addition, during the term, the State Audit has provided opinions on more than 4,000 personnel at the request of the Central Organizing Committee to ensure timely, honest and objective responsibilities related to the State Audit's audit conclusions and recommendations, as a basis for advising the Politburo and the Secretariat to review and approve the planning and appointment of strategic-level officials.
Regarding direction, the State Auditor General said that this agency will continue to focus on auditing "hot" topics that are of interest to public opinion, the National Assembly and voters, in conjunction with the National Assembly's supreme supervision plan.
The State Audit will also strengthen discipline and public order, and strictly manage audit activities to prevent violations, according to Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan.
