The State Audit has transferred 17 files to the police for investigation.

The State Auditor General said that during its term, the State Audit transferred 17 files to the Police Investigation Agency to investigate and clarify cases with signs of law violations through auditing activities.

On the afternoon of October 20, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan reported to the National Assembly on the work of the State Audit for the 2021-2026 term.

In the full report No. 1363/BC-KTNN sent to the National Assembly, the State Auditor General said that as of September 30, the State Audit had recommended financial settlement of VND254,676 billion and more than USD125 million. Of which, the recommendation was to increase state budget revenue by VND24,019 billion, reduce state budget expenditure by VND92,365 billion and more than USD108.8 million; other recommendations were VND138,292 billion and more than USD16.5 million.

Through the audit, recommendations were made to rectify the operations of the audited units and the responsibilities of relevant individuals and organizations in the management, operation and use of public finance and public assets.

In particular, the State Auditor General emphasized that the State Audit has recommended the cancellation, amendment, supplementation and new issuance of contents that are contrary to or inconsistent with the general regulations of the State and practices for 938 legal documents and management documents at all levels (including 13 laws, 36 decrees, 88 circulars, 16 decisions of the Prime Minister and 785 other documents), an increase of 19.3% compared to the 2016 - 2021 term.

According to the State Auditor General, this result affirms the correct direction of the State Audit during its term, which is to conduct audits to detect inadequacies and promptly overcome "loopholes" in policy mechanisms to improve the efficiency of management and use of public finance and public assets, and prevent and combat corruption, waste, and negativity.

Regarding the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity through auditing activities, the State Auditor General said that during the term, the State Audit provided 1,749 audit reports and related documents to agencies of the National Assembly, the Central Inspection Committee , investigation agencies and other competent state agencies to serve the investigation, inspection and supervision work, an increase of nearly 4 times compared to the previous term.

At the 10th session - the last session of the 15th National Assembly's term, the National Assembly listened to reports on the work of the agencies during the term.

The State Audit has also provided many reports summarizing audit results related to the supervision contents of the National Assembly, the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly agencies. In addition, the Audit has proposed the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity to put a number of projects with signs of waste discovered through audits under surveillance.

The State Audit has also transferred 17 files to the police investigation agency to investigate and clarify cases with signs of law violations through auditing activities; at the same time, it has coordinated to provide many documents and audit reports to inspection, examination and investigation agencies for clarification according to their authority.

At the same time, the report of the State Auditor General also said that the State Audit has audited two cases with signs of corruption under the direction of the Steering Committee; developed a "Project on regulations on controlling power to prevent corruption and negativity in auditing activities" to coordinate with the Central Inspection Committee to develop a draft project and regulations of the Politburo on controlling power in inspection, examination and auditing activities...

During the term, the State Audit has provided opinions on more than 4,000 personnel at the request of the Central Organizing Committee to ensure timely, honest and objective responsibilities related to the State Audit's audit conclusions and recommendations, as a basis for advising the Politburo and the Secretariat to review and approve the planning and appointment of strategic-level officials.
